ok not the week-end
but I replaced my Battery tray with a Stainless steel one..

I was going to salvage the original one...but after wire brushing ...holes started to appear....
too much corrosion and acid attack...

oh well

new tray in and happy~~

Went and hung out at the beach with both princesses. Beautiful day at Pacific city, OR.

It's been my weekend all week. Laid down just over 600 miles today going up to Sequoia NP. Didn't skip a beat and the ambient temps were hovering around 100-102. Couple instances of coolant temps going a tick over middle on gauge, still need to figure that out. Otherwise smooth as a baby's butt.

Looks like I'll have to host the other pics, they are too big to attach.

Here are a few pics of our past week having a look around the South of Western Australia. There is so much to explore in this area, and some great fishing (not that I could find any...)
I had an issue with finding Coolant over the injector lines (where they screw into the inj pump) while I had the bonnet up when getting the aux battery checked out. There was what appeared to be a lot there but couldnt find where it came from, and checked under the bonnet about 5 times today (on the way home - about 500kms), and it is all dry.... will look further tomorrow...

Miracles do happen....

Over a year and a half later, I finally found the time to go through the emissions systems and find the improperly routed vacuum lines, replace the cat, and pick up some stock sized tires for the rolling emmissions test. The truck passed with flying colors on the first try.

Now, time to get back to enjoying this thing!

Old results first, new results second:

That is great work! Congratulations
A year and a half is nothing in Landcruiser time...

interesting that the measured C02 values went up - but wow...look at the C0 (monoxide)... 0 measured. that's a win!

As it should have....more complete oxidation of CO = more CO2 and less residual O2. New cat doing its thing!

Sorry for the pic quality, The @mattressking faux twin stick mod.

Ha! How do you like it?

Looks pretty good I think. I feel the metal is a little thin and I am curious as to how it will hold up. Also there is a thickness difference where it attaches so not exactly seamless, but for 12 bucks or whatever it was it is not bad at all. I hope it's a back saver in the long run!

Now if someone wanted to make these in a higher quality stateside that would be interesting....

Had front windshield tested and sealed for water leaks. New to me rear lifgate glass replaced that had better defrost lines. Picked up powder coated splash guard. Drove it with ac on high for 40 minutes in 100 degree plus weather. The newer R134 system installed last spring kept the cab nice and cool. When I stopped at the market and returned to start, the temp gauge did creep up to 4/5 level as is expected in these rigs after you park in such weather conditions. It started coming back to 3/4 when I drove home.

I need to go and wire in the inclinometer...it's installed...but no lights yet....
also planning on installing new/better battery terminals because the ones I have come loose....
blargh

that's the plan for the next 24 hours...

and then go driving

Interesting, it's probably just a difference in gauges. I can drive with the A/C on in mine in 115+ and it doesn't do that after a quick restart. Mine hardly ever goes above 1/4, but infrared temp on radiator says 190. If it reaches half way on the gauge, infrared temp gauge on radiator says 190. I don't trust the gauge at all.

I have an aftermarket autometer temp gauge on mine and while driving around it sticks to 190, but shutting down real quick and running to the store, temp gauge spikes to 220-240 but comes down as soon as I give it some throttle.

Has me a little worried at times
