Installed a combo USB and cig lighter outlet in the cargo area and worked on filling in the small rust holes that are now much smaller on the passenger side doors. Will finish them tomorrow and then it's time for the Herculiner.

I used the small metal cover plate that fits right into the rearmost corner of the lower cargo area for the power outlets, ran a wire thru the firewall straight off the battery with an in-line fuse holder. Now I can charge and use my small air compressor or any other USB/12v device in the back of the Cruiser.

Still trying to determine why it's idling rough.
Completed vacuum leak check, carb solenoid, engine fuse, pulled the plugs, no problems there they looked good and clean, I'm at a loss...

On my '86 FJ60 project touched up previous sandblasting of front part of frame and primed - decided to wait for later this week for the weather to cooperate with higher temperatures. When I woke up this morning I discovered I may have a longer wait than I anticipated :):

Baseline complete - 3.5 yrs later

Changed transmission fluid and transfer case oil. Discovered that my trans fluid was overfilled and my tcase was low.... I guess its time for some close monitoring and possibly bandaid equalizing tube. The good news is the transmission fluid was pretty good in color and transparency, the tcase oil was pretty dark though.

The HF pump made the slow job slightly quicker and less messy. The inlet tube was collapsing under the pressure within two pumps though... What do u expect for $7...

This finally concluded my base lining phase 3.5 yrs in the making! All fluids have been changed, and the truck is running great. No more procrastinating, I need to finally bust out the welder and address a few cosmetic rust areas.

I took at test lap tonight, and it seemed a bit quieter, maybe the tcase being low caused some extra noise.

Nolan, it would appear that you are having a good spring so far with great pics proving it. Keep up the great work and lead us into summer. Question for you regarding license plate exposure. I can't use a Trasharoo on road as it covers the plate which is mounted on the Slee spare tire mount location. If you are using the stock plate location, how are you getting away with it?

Another thing about MS - when I worked in New Orleans I was talking to a co-worker who lived in Pearl River about the upcoming white tail deer hunting season. He said he hoped to bag his limit. Being from NM, where bagging your limit is in the context of quail or trout, not deer, I just had to ask him about that. He replied that the limit was 1 deer per day. I believe back then the limit may have been 7 per season!

As for the plate....no one gives a s*** here. Really. I am old. The truck is cool....plate is in the stock spot. I don't drink and drive so if they want to pull me over for that, let em.......

Yeah, we have no tags. We have WAY too many deer. In my killing times I killed as many as 50 does a year. It was insane. Now I don't have the want-to or energy to skin that many deer. Now I kill 3-4 and give 90% of the meat away.
