Swap progress moving well, just need to finish pulling PS lines, anyone know the fitting sizes on the box off the top of their heads? Need to get some lines made.

Doing some little surface rust cleanup from under the old battery tray area and then should get the new setup (ls + 6l80, keeping t-case) all mounted this weekend unless some major surprises. Excited to enter the put it back together phase.

Any other big "while you're in there" things you can think of?

IIRC the power steering box fittings are M16 flare for the low pressure and M17 flare for the high pressure.

Have you had success with that version? It looks like it might be the same plastic as the normal ball but with a larger rod inside of it. Not sure if that'll solve the deformation issue (if the plastic is the same).

i got rid of that plasticy rubber whatever it is and went to alu many years ago when these came out,,,, been absolutey rock solid and the knurled section makes a difference over a completely smooth ball from another maker.

Front end rollin’. . New wheel studs and shiny chrome nuts, along with everything else in the hub department.
Just need to put on sway bar, but it’s in paint currently, and the wind has whipped up, with impending rain.
I’m unable to bolt up front shocks as it’s not weighted down with engine . It’s about 30mm to go.
Gonna have to wait on that one.

Continue on stripping the fuel tank of underseal., as it reduces the blast time considerably, ( and tbh I hate sandblasting, horrible, noisey, messy job), glad the previous painted black gloop it as it’s pretty well preserved.
I need to do a repair on one of the breather pipes which had a hole by the tank….solder job to.
Tank straps in fine fettle other than a bit of surface rust. Rubber tank strips gone hard though.

Bought on toyotapartsdeal, bad experience, With damage on tap and lower tank. They shipped it in the OEM box without any extra protection or fragility warning.

I already ordered another one for a friend. I asked them to check the box and its fragile handling.

Spent the weekend at Uwharrie. It was a nice opportunity to shake down/test the 70 with the 15B-FT on the highway and the trails. This was a poser opportunity at Slab Rock ... not a jeep to be seen. lol

You have photos of the engine bay? I’m curious. I got one installed on my 60. Also what type of mpg you are getting?

Yes. I need to find the time to write up and document the installation here.
MPGs have been mostly in the 22s (varying slightly with cruise speed, 72mph vrs 79mph). However, she averaged 25mpg on the drive up to Uwharrie on Wednesday. (interstate speed was nominally 72mph with the state highways being around 60mph) It was the first full tank cycle with fuel additive (Stanadyne). I will be doing more testing to verify/confirm this.

Didn't even know that I had a wheel in the air. The picture doesn't show it, but it was a fairly steep climb and the front felt like both wheel were well planted. Clearly, I was wrong.
