For the first 6 months of having my
Holley Sniper installed I was having intermittent fueling issues. I work at home and have been pretty good about staying in a 10 mile radius of my house so the issue wasn't bad when I'd drive the cruiser but I wasn't satisfied with the performance of an already power lacking 3F.
I figured I did something wrong when first doing the Sniper install so I went back and did everything over.
This time around I did two things differently. First I cleaned and resealed the exhaust system ensuring I didn't have any exhaust leaks that would throw off the 02 sensor. Definitely should have done this in the first place.

Second, I opted out of a fuel return line from the Sniper unit. My thought after reading tons of forums was going with a dead head approach would prevent any fuel boiling issues with how close the return line was to the exhaust. Another good option for these engine layouts.

For the last 500 miles the Holley Sniper has been awesome, the AFR's have been consistent and safe. Fuel delivery has been great and driving the 75 has been a blast! The 3F is so easy to work on and after removing all but 1 vacuum line ( dizzy to sniper ) the engine bay is bare and neat. After a little over a year of ownership I do occasionally wish I bought an FZJ75 so that I wouldn't always be desiring an engine swap with more power. Owning a FZJ80 as my first cruiser was a great experience and the 1fz-fe was nothing but reliable. I could only imagine a 1FZ with a Holley Sniper paired with a 5 speed... Oh well
