Thank you for the advice @jblueridge. I got the Brake line off and so was able to get the dust cover off. I guess the electronic wire going into the top of the hub was for the electronic hubs. I'm wondering what part of the manual hub conversion from cruiser outfitters seals this hole up??Is that a 90 degree elbow attached to the soft hose? Can you not get hard line off of it and spin the elbow round and round?
If not, get the other end of the soft line loose. Get that end’s hard line off then pull out the flat-ish spring plate that holds the end of the soft line in its bracket.
Fog/ice today at Bogus was a bummer, we thought it would burn off by 1p....then it got worse.Drove up the hill to go boarding early today. Came back to some ice. Goggles were freezing up all morning on the mountain too. She fired right up with about 8 seconds of glow.View attachment 3533105
Yes it was, I usually leave when I'm tired, I left yesterday because I was tired of scraping the ice off my goggles every 10 turns.Fog/ice today at Bogus was a bummer, we thought it would burn off by 1p....then it got worse.
We’re having a great time in Va, finally get to use 4WD.Well in central VA we got 1/2" of snow last night.
Everyone is terrified.
If my experience in the Middle East is anything to go by, they ask to register your VIN before even starting to talk to you…View attachment 3534212Saw this while driving around, IDK, maybe they got filters...![]()

Where did you get that cable? I recently went to replace mine from Toyota for my 93 HZJ73 and it was saying NLA.Hello
Although not that cold like in some places in NA, the weather forecast said temperatures to drop and snow to come in.
So I motivated myself and got the brakes checked and the parking brake cable replaced. The truck is due for road safety check soon,. The brakes where last done 4 years ago, so I opened them and thoroughly checked and adjusted them. Still good!
I also removed the bell cranks, cleaned out a lot of grime, put new boots.

New parking brake cable also got installed.

The boot around the cable was already busted when I got the truck 4 years ago.
View attachment 3532770Hold up for 4 years, but eventually so much grime got in, it seized. Should have fixed the boot earlier and would probably have gotten some more lifespan out of it. Well, now I have an all new cable and the parking brake is reliable again. Big safety factor when offroading in the hills. (And mandatory to pass inspection).
Cheers Ralf
…oh for that much garage floor…Balls deep in this swivel hub Rebuild/manual hub conversion project on the hzj73. I found that the knuckle arm where it mounts to the steering knuckle did not have any shims. There was one shim under the bearing cap (lower side of knuckle). This is opposite what the FSM shows. Is this a problem or is it just different on different trucks depending on what tensions them correctly?
