The bag says 'Imperial Automobile Control Cables' (IMP) Imperial Cable Systems Inc. Apparently from Thailand.
Cheers Ralf

Cool, I know them, we stock a few cables they offer

Less salt, more snow. The Isuzu 4BD1T gives the red rocket enough power to now drift in the snow, the old 3B would barely do anything unless I was on pure ice lol

A t-shirt for the Prado owners. 😁

Breaking in the 77.... remembering her little quirks since it hasn't been driven for almost a year and my memory is shot. This morning I remembered the speedo cable makes that noise sometimes when it scared the crap out of me @ 100 km/h.

Saturday was the first time they sat next to each other and held hands. Awe.

Started the Dobinson lift on the 73. Out with the old and in with the new. Completed the rear then paused on the fronts when I realized I needed longer headed spring center bolts.

Later extended shackle

Planning an upcoming lift on my hzj73. I was planning on an old man emu lift as it seems to with my baseline knowledge go hand and hand with land cruisers. I don't know much about dobinson. Is there specific advantages or strong points you feel it has over the OME? Or would you say they are pretty comparable.

Thanks,

Sean

Sean, I see you’re in Utah. We stock both the Old Man Emu and Dobinsons like at Cruiser Outfitters in Murray. If you want to come by and look at them side by side we can point out pro‘s and con’s of each. Often a mix-match of components yields the most tailored solution for a given setup. I’ve got the OME on my personal BJ74, I’ve been very happy but do plan to use the IMS shocks with the OME springs on my next revision.

Haven't driven a rig with Dobinson leaves yet. I'm usually an OME guy as well. Dobinson had a good deal running near Black Friday and had read several positive reviews from 60/62 series guys. Reportedly the shocks are superior to OME. I went with their IMS shock and they seem well made. The poly bushings they supply are sweet. Little grease grooves all around. Nice touch.

I will report back in my 73 'build' thread once I've finished and driven it. The rear came up about 2" for me from stock springs and those extended shackles. I'm sure it will settle some. That's with zero miles and minimal weight.

Will do. Planning on lifting as soon as I'm finish installing the swivel hub rebuild and manual hub conversion I got from cruiser outfitters. I think I'm calling you today for new rotars, Brake lines, and discs. Might as well while I have it torn down!

Sounds great, we should have all of that stuff in stock! If you don't have the part numbers, shoot our customer service team an email with your vehicle details and they'll get you a list of options you can then call/stop-by and order. info@cruiseroutfitters.com

❄️ Snow here is a rare opportunity. Took the Cruiser out to the hills to enjoy. 😃
Cheers Ralf

Rear door fold down tables are awesome. Combined with some small storage inside the rear doors is even better. I love mine. whether it's a serving tray or cooking pad for a meal, or a place to cut up fish bait and rig up. As awesome as it is the auto makers would be fools not to put this on a new SUV at some point in the near future.

Arrived in the Philippines recently after being gone for 10 months.
Replaced the driving/brake tail light bulbs with LEDs that I purchased on the Forum over a year ago.
Drained the oil pan and removed the oil filter; filled with 9L 15W/40 and installed a factory oil filter.
Drove the '93 PZJ75 around town and discovered fuel leaks in a couple of the 30+years old rubber fuel lines; they were hard and cracked (small surprise in this heat).
Searched around town trying to find fuel rated rubber hose of the appropriate size at the local parts stores. Need to ask the assistance of a friend due to a misunderstanding in terminology; my Tagalog is not good enough and parts store peoples English is not that good.
Finally located and purchased a couple different rubber fuel line sizes to fit the steel fuel lines.
Drove to truck for about 70 KMs and so far no leaks.

Took a while, but finally got the my BJ74 (aka Righty) back on the road after the alternator gave out. One day, the Battery and Filter light came on and I noticed the voltage slowly dropping as I drove. Luckily I wasn't far from my garage, so I didn't get stranded. After poking around with the multimeter, I determined in fact the alternator was not putting out much...like 0.

After some research here, came up with nothing, so tried a few local alternator shops and found one (Broadway Electric in Lemon Grove, CA) who have experience with these and were willing to work on it. They came through in the end, but took some time which I suppose is to be expected.

In the mean time, I got distracted by a trip to Ghana to do some Land Cruiser spotting

Back up and running (you'll have to use your imagination...too lazy to upload a video!)

Now am just waiting on @ToyotaMatt for a fusible link I ordered many weeks ago...nudge nudge! With that Right's electrical system will be back in tip top shape!

Hey @perrobravo! It might be worth bugging @Coolerman to see if he can duplicate the fusible link. His prices are very reasonable for great quality and his communication along with his turn around is impressive.

Here's his website:

It seems like your original vendor for a fusible link has been having some recent order fulfillment issues...
