Road Trip Stats:
I just did a nearly 11 hour road trip in my 1HZ powered Land Cruiser and I took time to take a few notes. The trip originated on the Georgia / Florida border and extended into the foothills of Northern Georgia before returning to South Georgia. On the return leg the winds provided a nearly constant head wind that was strong enough to move semi trailers around (rather unnerving when you’re surrounded by them). Even the giant American flags you see at car dealerships along the interstate were standing straight out. I didn’t think to check my fuel economy until the return leg and I’m assuming it was adversely affected by the strong winds. The trip was approximately 70% interstate and 30% secondary roads. On the interstate I mostly stayed in the slow-poke lane and averaged about 65mph.
Average EGT ..... 350 degrees (C) ..... 662 degrees (F)
Highest EGT** ... 450 degrees (C) ..... 842 degrees (F)
**Obtained on a 2 mile constant incline while holding speed.
Average Water Temp ..... 86 degrees (C) .... 187 degrees (F)
Highest Water Temp** ... 93 degrees (C) .... 199 degrees (F)
** Associated with the long inclines.
Average boost (at speed) ..... 6-7psi
Max boost ............................10.8psi
Fuel Economy ..... 16.72 mpg ( this is assuming my odometer is accurate)

In the way of trivia, in nearly 11 hours of driving, I didn’t see ANY Land Cruisers other than the occasional 200 Series. I did get a lot of thumbs-up from the 4Runner / FJCruiser crowd.
