Used a long coupling nut and the head of a bolt to make a new Max Fuel Screw cover nut.
Cleaned up and put POR15 on the medley of vacuum tubes that sit under the intake elbow.

Tried my hand at dyeing some door cards from oak to grey. Turned out pretty good!

Pulled my intake manifold after determining there was a leak which was not allowing the engine to shut down with the key.

Turns out it's possible to put the gasket on flipped and upside down. I'm a damn idiot. Ran out of time to see if it fixed the problem but I'm nearly certain it will. Probably pulling the FRP top this weekend. Better late than never.

Now I've painted the car grey, the Oak interior looks a little out of place. Considering painting the dash.

I like your truck with the grey/oak setup.....you should keep it! It's unique for sure. Love that build. Thinking of grey for my truck....

Pretty easy process. We started by giving the parts a really good cleaning with Simple Green. Wiped them with prep solvent and then followed the instructions exactly on the SEM XXX adhesion promoter....followed by SEM Presidio grey. Color match is not identical to the OEM blue/grey but it would be OK if you were doing your whole interior so it all matches. There is a color called Thomas Bus Gray...it looks to have a bit more blue in it and it's darker. Might play around with a can of that when we do the Troopy dash stuff. There are a lot fo shades of grey in the trucks....it's kind of surprising. I've been buying a lot of new dash parts and I have to do a double take every so often to make sure I got the right part....the shades are really different.

It looks REALLY light in this pic(my dyed one is on the right)....the one on the left is a brand new OEM. Guess I'll lose a few points in the next concours. Oh well.

This is what my interior guys use....they recommend the adhesion promoter. We use the tan on the stuff for the 80...matches perfect. Sprays out super nice. Great product. If you're ordering SEM stuff, buy a can of the SEM Trim Black......might be one of the best paints in the world.

Are you thinking of adding fabric to the door cards? I bought the plastic ones from ebay Australia but have been thinking of using oem vinyl and adding in some fabric like the OEM electric windows cards. Can't find gray, non-electric, door cards with cloth (don't think they exist) so I might make my own. I have a bunch of samples on the way.

I have seen the crank window cards before with cloth inserts. I guess it is personal taste but I am not a fan of the cloth inserts myself.

Here is an example on a PZJ70 that was listed for sale on here in the past.

I ended up having an entire new set of vinyl cards made for my PZJ70 without the cloth inserts. Came out pretty nice.

Yeah different strokes I guess? I kinda like the cloth too break up the wall of vinyl. Just person preference. Plus an actual arm rest would be nice for the left arm. Right arm will have one... a very expensive arm rest...

Yup, toll card reader.

Most of the ones I saw in Japan were just velcro'd or double-sided taped on.
Are there signs of a fastener on the other side (inside dash)? Could be an attachment.

It looks like velcro but when I pull on it, it doesn't give that velcro sound. My guess it is double sided tape so I can try some dental floss and see if that works.

Fishing line works better than dental floss.....you could try using a heat gun too.
