Not got anything done... apart from planning...

For the 13BT water pump, the FSM just says fit gasket between pump and block; I've got a new water pump and gasket to go in, do I just run it as is, or do I need to put some gunk on it? I've always been inclined to put some aviation gasket gloop on, but I've also got some Hylomar for gaskets. What's the consensus?
i used a very very thin coat of rtv

So it wasn’t that spectacular tbh….not sure what I was expecting, but certainly a great deal of rust got “ transferred to the sac cath.

I use this kind of setup all the time.
Very satisfying to see the rust go away.
I use washing powder as electrolyte and an old desktop power supply, controlling the current by the amount of powder added, but only allow about 4 to 6 amps as I usually leave it over night and it makes me sleep better...
Degreasing before the process, works better.
Good luck

I didn’t use any of the water pump but I did have to use sealant for the thermostat gasket.

I used the paper gasket and right stuff smear on each side.

Although I’m unwilling to discuss how I got them into the country or how they are titled, I did recently obtain a couple of dual cabs. Both are V8’s.

Today I did the preliminary seat fitment with my custom scheel-mann seats. These are the Vario F XXL Klima. I’m really happy with how the upholstery came out! I installed them using the Planted bracket, and gained a little headroom and a nice bit of extra legroom as well.

I didn’t fit the armrests yet, or hook up the wiring for the active ventilation and seat heat. They will be coming be coming back out one more time so that I can run wiring from my new 24V->12V converter under the carpet to the seats. I also think if I modify the Planted bracket slightly, I’ll be able to fit dual armrests! 😎

Is that an A110 1600 up on the shelf? One of my all time favorites.

oooo integrated headlight covers

Getting some major maintenance going on "Karen" the HZJ-73. Front axle is going back in. It has a mix of parts. Blasted and painted up the old OME lift springs, powder coated the housings and knuckles, had some new shackle kits lying around, bought new bushings, steering and axle kit from @cruiseroutfit, put in a e-locker front diff I had lying around that will get controlled by an air actuator to match the arb rear (had laying around as well :D ) so the truck will be locked, New Dobinsons IMS shocks on the way from Ozark Overland Outfitters, reusing the OME steering damper (needs a repaint but still solid). I am kinda bummed that I have to run wheel spacers, but they are the only way to make the truck look right when I put flares back on it (and not have the steering gouge the wheel at full lock-doh! ). I ran spacers on my old 80 on 35's and never had a hint of an issue so all good. They are just a pain.

Looking good!

Curious on the shackle orientation. Running them upside down intentionally?

LOL, good catch. My guy working on it put them on wrong and I missed it. Soon to be corrected!

In my best Pee Wee Herman voice - "I meant to do that" :p

Sandblast,repair/ primer on front swivels and brake dust guards which I understand are not available.
Front bump stop plate removal, rubber parts must be still in W.Australia!
And I made a box spanner, as I was so horrified on how the nuts had been adjusted by previous hammer and cold chisel😳🙄.

Nice save. I have actually had good luck using epoxy repair putty (JB Weld) on holes that reveal themselves after blasting. At least on parts like the dust shield that really don't see abuse other than weather. A piece of tape for a backer and patch away. As long as they are painted up well afterwards it will be a long term fix.
