Does anyone have any extra brake discs? Used is ok if they aren’t cracked. The used ones I got were broken in shipping. I just need something to get this winch going.

@MatthewMcD ??

How quickly do you need them? I’ve already received my new Warn rebuild kit but won’t be taking apart the brake until I get back from VA
10-1-24. I don’t know if mine are good or not? But if they are I’m happy to let you have them for the cost of shipping to you.

Definitely keep me in mind! If they don’t have cracks I’d take them. Not in a big rush but I’d like to get this PITA fixed…haha.

Sorry, I misread your request. The only thing I have are the 6 "break pads" shown on the right of the photos in WARN 8274...show what ya got! - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/warn-8274-show-what-ya-got.1088231/post-15632569
Got it. I’m looking for these…just not broken. ;-)

This is how it started.

And this is how it's going. As far as I can tell all of the parts are here, and he included a new cable and battery cables.

The rebuild kits started arriving today.
A bit of paint and elbow grease and this is where I am now. The brake repair kit had a few extra parts that didn't match anything that came off the winch. (I did use the cardboard spacer for the brake installation.)

I build a stand to make life easier.
It looks like this version does not have mounting holes for the end cap on the drum support. I'll probably upgrade that before I install it. Does the drum support just float on the drum or is there a connection I am missing?
The only component I couldn't get apart was the clutch knob. I'll keep at it and see if I can replace the o-ring before I mount it.

Anyone see any other issues?
Today I'll clean up and install the solenoids. Then I can wire the controller. I need to find a Warn Wiring diagram.

It just floats; pretty low tech but it works.

Installation of an 8274 on a TJM bumper on a Lexus LX450.

When I bought the Cruiser it had a Superwinch X9, the winch worked sort of, not well. I had it off, cleaned all the contacts and wire ends, reinstalled and it still failed to function well. I need a winch I can depend on. The '77 FJ40 had an 8274 that was not getting much use so I appropriated it. I found this 8274 on the side of the road attached to an old Bronco, seventies something Bronco that was for sale. I called the number and asked the guy if he would sell the winch off the Bronco. Yes. How much? $75. Score. I was prepared to go a couple of hundred. I rebuilt the winch with an Albright contactor and upgraded motor. Today I installed a new cover. Sucker is fast. It fits the TJM bumper but it's tight. No way to remove the grill without pulling the bumper and winch.
