An oddity...

Portuguese spec special, with warning relay that the front windshield is ajar.

Did you have luck sourcing a new rear door by now? Looking good.
There is a guy just posted from UK who has an aftermarket soft top in case you were still looking at that.

Is it one of the German made black canvas tops with windows and fold down frame ?

To bad they stopped making those more then 10 years ago ...

Discussed with a local client, that's also a reputable canvas stitcher, and it'd be a relatively expensive endeavor to replicate, before even the getting to the fold down frame.

If enough were interested and considering the close proximity a few 73 owners are to Marshall, I'd think he'd be the best guy to talk to about making something.

I think I'll try to concoct rigging to pull the hardtop once a year, and be done, or spending the money on an OE soft top and relegating this is as (relatively) fair weathered Cruiser.

The primered exhaust pipe is nice...

If I tol' her once, I tol' her a thousand times:

At least it's just the tip!

Looks like this guy at the body shop it's doing a decent job, isn't it ? ;)

Ain't the first rodeo, for sure....

I will take it for a test drive after paint and when Chris get's it back it will be burnt clean ;)

I know how you drive, so cover in burnt rubber.

She'll leave going into third, no problem.

feeling a little behind the curve on the standard you are setting!

I have to admit, I do set the curve.....

on a behavioral health barometer, towards the convexing direction of nucking futs.

You're right there with me, Sol.

In 1983, in the tenderness of youth, I fell in love with the 40.

In 2004 or 5, was sickened by the 'new 40 concept', seeing in Car and Driver, or similar, after Mr. T unveiled at whatever car show, wondering how they'd could forget that funny looking solid thingy in the front and why they molded like a half melted lump of butter.

6-7 years ago, conceded defeat on 40 acquisition and began searching for the newer variant.....which led me to some page, somewhere, where someone without a lick of sense took brand freaking new, straight to the shop and 'fixed' what ailed the FJC......which led me to the dealership that denotes the day I embarked upon this journey.

You set the curve, sir.

Because of that and the fact that we do exist in a litigious society, I hold you responsible for ALL THIS and will be sending an invoice or summons shortly.

Edited: or you could sell me that POS with all that bugger welded crap on it for a reasonable amount and we can call it even. :flipoff2:
