Wow, that is quite a tale. I started my Troopy project planning for a tierra del fuego trip.

I've previously gone as far as Alaska to Costa Rica, but these days I spend most of my travels around the American west.

Bit I also dream sometimes of a Cairo to Capetown trip and an Atlantic to Pacific drive across Europe and Asia too.

I'd started to think those last two might not be feasible anytime soon given conditions these days.

Inspiring to see a counterexample.

@TreadingLight - Europe to Asia is much, much more attainable and pleasant than Cairo to Cape, there are multiple routes and frankly if you can get a visa to Russia you are golden. I met some overlanders who planned to drive Oman to Cape Town, and had to pull out because of the situation in Ethiopia.

For those that enjoyed the above story, I strongly, strongly, strongly recommend reading fellow IH8MUD members' postings - @Eurasiaoverland - a true adventurer. EurasiaOverland - https://eurasiaoverland.com/
