Against Mr. K's better wishes, I insisted upon removing the fender spacers and replacing with new. He claimed an insurmountable task, one that sucked worse than septic tank sanitization......it didn't seem that hard to me.....few clicks of thumb and another charge to the card and I was done with it!!

Anyhow, between this and Troopy, shorted one, at that critical moment when it HAD to be there. Fortunately, Mr. K has an incredible inventory....

Have yet to find these available new, anywhere on earth.

Someone prove me wrong to their existence, please. Most all else I've new, and will install once the rear door finally arrives from the ends of earth, and is painted to match.

By fault of an over eager local parts girl, wound up with a new windshield, too!

Because of that and the fact that we do exist in a litigious society, I hold you responsible for ALL THIS and will be sending an invoice or summons shortly.

Edited: or you could sell me that POS with all that bugger welded crap on it for a reasonable amount and we can call it even. :flipoff2:

For you, and to settle this, you can pay me $1M USD and I'll throw in free shipping to your front door.

VMJ73 Resto-Actually

I'm bummed you didn't cut it up...

I believe that's "booger"................:flipoff2:

Talk Don into half assing it, then send me the wiring info.

Why cut when there's options that are already short all the crap that gets in the way, B pillar back.

The hot tea and scones must've gone to me head!!

These are the part numbers I used for my RHD 1985 FJ73.
They should be interchangeable I don't think it matters that they put your steering wheel on the wrong side.

I got mine online. Cost each AU .0c one thousand nine hundred and fourty six cents.

You can still get the other associated seals, they were slightly cheaper.

You're just jealous our toilet drains the right way.....

I know attempted ordering every number I could find of every variant possible, regardless that the box was light green (indicative 'low inventory') or not.

Don't know if I tried those two, but showed as dark green this morning, so I thank you kindly.

1,486 cents here, but shipping was 3,216 for the 2,972 cent order.

As I've been mired in pigchit for as many years, to which there are no resources for many components of sealing and the one that does supply costs half the original msrp for a fraction of the rubber parts necessary, I'm serious about plastics/rubbers/weatherstripping/lights and housings.

I want to say that the only I now lack are one rear door upper weatherstrip and opposing door glass seal, as well new upper rear frames.

Amazingly, Joe's reinstalled some of the original and it appears to still be in good condition.

@Billyfj7312ht

Are all the rear lights on yours in the single corner indicator, or do you have both corner and bumper lights?

You two have a couple of the nicest builds going, getting all the details worked out. My truck looks
like an abandoned bush buggy compared. But I am assembling a nice list of part numbers! J

Mine are all in a single corner indicator, but will probably put some in my rear bar as well because of spare tyre etc.

You could try some of these part numbers.
I got them off my Toyota EPC CD which has more indepth details and diagrams than any of the online search engines. I have cross referenced them with Megazip.com and Amayama but maybe just clarify them with someone who actually knows what their talking about.

Search Criteria: 1984-1990 BJ73,74 FJ73,74

Weather strip for detachable upper door frame
RH - 67881-90k04 LH - 67882-90k04 (substitite No. 67882-60050) substitute was cheaper? - both were dark green.

Upper frame sub assembly with/*Duty door frame - not sure what /*Duty means?
RH - 68607-90k02 (Sub 68607-60020) LH - 68608-90k02 (Sub 68608-60020) - both were only light green.

Upper Glass weather strip with/*Duty Frame
RH - 68291-90k02 LH - 68292-90k02 - Hopefully it was the left hand you need as RH was light green, left hand was dark green.

I was as excited as a kid at Christmas.....then grandma peed on the tree.

I don't know what the deal is, but as of late, this is how these orders have transpired. In two more weeks they'll message saying they're NLA, which is why it took over a year to acquire all that I do have.

Sucks!!

Should I start collecting all 70's rubber parts that has never seen the sun and is in like new condition :)

I feel that'd be a prudent measure, one affording some degree of retirement security.

As well, collect those high roof FRP tops, so they can be cut and molded, then wrapped in canvas, ala OE softop, without all the BS.

Add a few of the 1HZ specific H55Fs from the Breems boys.

Weatherstripping for rear cargo glass, rear door tops, new carpet/flooring, new interior panels, seats, and might as well get some 5 lug outers and new takeoff wells to match.

Throw all that crap around one of those new $33k HZJ79s, concealing it in the container, and I'll spend my remaining days ensuring your elevated stature as
'St. Joeri'.

Hell, I'll even get them to name a city in Missouri after you.

If 70 Series rubber parts are quickly becoming Unobtanium, I'd try to get some examples to Racer for reproduction and addition to his store.

I realize he is focused on 40 Series, but I would think (after following this thread) that there would be $ in 55 Series and 70 Series.

These parts are not discontinued. Chris just needs a better parts guy.

Way to many different variations between all the different 7x models and their equipment, weatherstripping for doors, windshield and other "common" replaced items are still available

You know to expect some BLOW back from that statement, right?

BLOWING things out of proportion....might just BLOW up in yo' face!!

Everything's 'available', but the FRP and corresponding removable top doors have proven challenging to source for.

Have tried every possible part for the rear upper frames and they seem to have gone the way of the dodo. The rest requires time and patience, both of which I have a tremendous abundance of.....
