You go girl......:grinpimp:

If ya got it, flaunt it!!

Do you ever have people in the back?

She says we're to old for that, but I've yet to give up hope.

I would run it

It's not the cleanest, hence the 50 yard pics.

The tops are comprised of a few steel reinforcements, wrapped in foam, then encased in a plastic shell, so not really a good way to cap the cut.

I'm considering more a stuffed bikini top, cutting along this line, terminating above the cabrio, somehow.

Maybe be handsy with some fiberglass.

This is actually a top from Joe K (didn't cut my good top) but think it's worth the time, so seeking new rubber seals for both it and the full.

Age should not be a limit, I know heaps of older people that drive 2 seaters..

Don't you have other larger cars if you want to carry rear passengers in you vehicle. A troopie would hold a lot of men...
Mid wheel base = 2 seats, drawers for all your tools, load space above drawers. great 4WD.

Age should not be a limit...

That's what I keep saying!

If anything, age should be THE reason to lessen inhibitions, in a 'whatever, whenever, however, wherever' sort of way. ;)

I know heaps of older people....

Whoa, whoa, whoa!!

Who you callin' older??

Don't you have other larger cars if you want to carry rear passengers in you vehicle.

I'm smarter than that, Mrs. D.

Don't know how you conned a mate into collusion, but I'm on to you!!

A troopie would hold a lot of men...

A lot of men?!?!? Like a clown car for the Village People??

Hell, I'm thinking limo tint, queen sized bed, plush velour, carpeted walls, leather ceiling with mirrored insert, equipped with numerous anchor points for 'tie downs' and mebbe even some dingo balls to compete the motif.

@joekatana,

Too late for a suspension bed base?!???

Bahahahaha.

Beautiful job, where did you source the turbo from? So what have you done to repair the rear doors?

Beautiful job

I can't take credit, as all I did was go full retard and write the checks.

Local kid, Dusty, (you know you're getting old when you call 30 something's 'kids', but one of his buddies was running a D3 on projects of mine at 12, so they're all still 'kids' to me) took on an HZ project I picked up from Joe, rebuilt IP and injectors and had it running like a sewing machine in no time, so his shop has become very familiar with Toyota diesels (which he claims them to be about as advanced as a crowbar....which we all already know and love) and Dustin and Len did the work.

He's building a stand for the other 'project' now, so hope to send him business so favor'll be shown when the final time is tallied for the '7D9 project'.

Tuned intially with the downpipe only, and it ran very well, although a flat spot in 3rd.

I couldn't take the looks of pipe, pushed down from OE exhaust, so cobbled up a union between it and the little VM exhaust, and it felt peppier, but smoked.

Had the 3" put on (they suggested and said, up front, it'd need to be tuned after) and it runs ok, smokes more, but needs tuned, for sure. No boost until way late in the RPMs.

where did you source the turbo from?

@sbechtold sent an eBay Australia link that he'd done some degree of checking into, and purchased from them. (Thanks, Sol!)

So what have you done to repair the rear doors?

Cashed the insurance check and requested replacement from @joekatana, all I've accomplished yet.

that's a beauty engine bay ..

Even the bling is growing me....

For reasons I shan't go into, (partially because I'm legally bound not to) the IP and injectors were rebuilt before turbo to.

I know that whole 'ain't broke, don't fix it' mentality does bear weight, but post rebuild, she ran considerably better, enough so that I'd say it should be the first step in 'powering up' the HZ.

Cool progress. Mine needs exactly that little bit of concentrated surgery too. Well done. Where are you sourcing window frame from?
