Hardly get abv 2500rpms in my rig...never in 4th. But...hvnt driven in a while, my memory is a lil faded.Flat land or down hill lower rpm’s, uphill nothing
My 4BT can do 65 mph in 5th and still only runs 1850 rpm’s
My 2F and 4 spd ran at 2500 rpm’s at 55 mph on 32” tires in 4th.Hardly get abv 2500rpms in my rig...never in 4th. But...hvnt driven in a while, my memory is a lil faded.
Mine runs at about that (again...memory may b off) on 33s at 70mph+... I'll have to keep an eye on this. But...2500 seems to be about rightMy 2F and 4 spd ran at 2500 rpm’s at 55 mph on 32” tires in 4th.![]()
Appreciate the time for this reply....I currently do ZERO off roading. May/may not change in future as I have lotta Colorado to explore. If you don't do a lot of wheeling that requires low range, you can put 33x10.5s on your truck and get a 'rubber overdrive' that will lower highway RPMs a bit. The cost of a transmission ($2700 or so) and labor (and an xfer case rebuild) can put the price easily at $5K-6+, if shop does it. Maybe less if your truck is mid-'85-1987 mfg.
Best answer evah!If you have to ask, you don't need it or even want it
The advantage of an H55f is then being able to impress chicks with your sweet Land Cruiser transmission.
I have 33s already....And a new H55f is all clean and shiny. It would allow you to swap to 33’s and swap to some 62 diffs, have a low first gear and an overdrive 5th.
I’d love to have 5th for long stints on the highway just to drop the revs more as the 2f seems happiest the slower it spins.

Ya...that's why I said "best answer evah"!! Made alotta sense!@WSOPgold2012 not trying to be flippant...but don’t short change this statement. There is a lot of merit behind this thought.
