I've got two now. I need twice as many parts. Where do I get the sill? I'm off to search through your threads now.
Awl_TEQ (Kevin - in Canada) has made some great parts for me. I used old horns/parts from my sill, welded to his new press work. He's gone on to do sill work for others, there are a few threads on Mud. I think he's done a complete (horns, everything) 79-newer sill and may have done 78-older complete sill by now. Great guy - great value for the buck - IMHO. He always seems concerned you get what you need. That's what I did - there's always all the CCOT type stuff out there.

Dizzy breather
Marvin has an '86 2f with a big dizzy, but no breather in the cab, like in my '78. One of the breather holes was just plugged off. I read about how the air cleaner vaccuum is supposed to suck clean air through the dizzy from the in-cab breather. I've had this breather floating around my swap meet junk for years. So...
I found a spot with an inward-facing bolt and a place for an innocuous hole in the firewall. This is between the heater motor and the firewall rib.
Tools of the trade.
This may be the first time I've ever drilled into non-rusty Toyota metal other than drilling out broken-off bolts. Measured twice; marked and drilled once. Sometime I'll get under here, drill out the broken bolt on the right side and replace both with Toyota bolts.

Replacement Steering Box
I have pretty well committed myself to a do-over on the steering mount. I need to drive it around some before I tear into it, so I spent the time to test the new box on the old mount. I've got some pictures of the welds I'll not post. I believe this mount would survive 35" tires. I've seen far too many broken and cracked frame pictures this week though.
This was in-stock at the local Napa. They had one for $30 cheaper at Kragen, also in stock, but I wasn't 100% sure the casting was original. The numbers and "S" logo had at least been ground off. For $30 extra, well... you don't buy a steering box that often.
While I was adjusting the valves I spent about 10 seconds cleaning the valve cover. If my other one was this pretty I wouldn't've painted it.

Started tearing it down today after passing smog yesterday 
I stripped the parts off the rear: lights, spare, bumperettes, hitch and trailer wiring. I only had to grind off two bolts and didn't have to drill any!
Here's the back. Bad news first. We'll get to this eventually. For now, it's staying as-is.

Spare, probably will sell with the tires that are on it now. The wagon's are growing on me, and they're a good size, 15x9 with 3.5 bs. We'll see where this goes. Depends if they fit over the brakes in the back and what tires I can find for cheap.
