Love that Stan!

Great solution that candidly might be better than something inside!

Starting to look like something. The two framed out squares on either side are for 4 box fans with filters sucking air out. I'll be framing in a 20" section across the top of the shop door, it will be 10' of filtered air coming in. Amazing amount of light inside. Check out the shadow on the left side. The light comes in from the right with zero shadow line inside and the light hits the inside wall and bounces back. It does not go through the far wall as evidenced by the shadow. The floor will also be plastic.

If you put that sheeting on the floor you will have a perfect murder room.... err... I mean paint booth. Yeah that's it

Bad quality pictures but I got my bumper and winch mounted! 7/8 bolts are in the bumper and 3/4 bolts are in the winch. Good numbers for me!

It's going to be hard to paint it with it installed. Or is this going to be a case of "In rust we trust?" Either way, congrats!

Thanks! I havent decided what my route is yet. I’m either gonna just let it rust or pull it off and clear coat. It’s a super easy install.

I’m going to Gulches ORV Park this weekend and got it last night and was just tryna get it on before I go.

I bet it would look cool to let it rust a while and then clear over it. The clear will knock down the orangey look, give it some sheen and keep the oxide from rubbing off on you every time you touch it. I like that bumper a lot no matter what you decide.

So I went to Gulches ORV Park this weekend with the Clemson Offroad Club. Great trip but I had some bad carnage. I was following some Jeeps and while they were vastly inferior, they were locked on 35s and I’m open open on 33s. But I still managed to go everywhere they did. All my carnage is from climbing ledges on my first trail of the day.

I got into both rear control arm mounts, but it didn’t mess anything up. I dented my muffler little, doesn’t matter. And I scratched my doors, also doesn’t matter.

But what matters is the huge dent in my front differential. Now there is the worst noise on earth coming from my rig and I’m worried it’s the ring gear hitting the housing. It gets worse when I turn left and less worse when I turn right. And my steering wheel is cocked way left to go straight.

I wouldnt drive anymore till you pull that diff. That dent certainly looks like it could be hitting the R&P.

One of your steering arms may have bent a bit to put the steering wheel off center.

I drove it home an hour from Gulches back to campus but it is currently parked and not moving. I’m going to drain a couple quarts of gear oil to check for metal shavings per the advice of @4LowandSlow and go from there. I have a video of the noise but I’m not sure how to post that on mud.

That's a bad dent dude. I wouldn't even bother draining it, you need to pull that front end apart and fix the damaged carrier/ring

That front panhard rod (or is that the drag link?) doesn’t look quite right in the picture of the diff dent. If either of them are bent, that would explain the offset steering wheel

@40LandCruising I'm going to go out on a limb here and play devil's advocate. I think what has happened is that you have mashed your track bar into the diff housing and possibly bent your relay rod (**correction... DRAG LINK...wrong terminology). I don't think the dent in the diff is what is causing the noise. It doesn't look deep enough to me to be causing an issue. If your ring gear is contacting the inside of the housing, you'd hear it all the time. It would not be happening more when you turn one way and less when you turn the other way. Do this...see if you can get your hand between the track bar and the front of the diff. You should be able to. If the space between is really tight or even touching, you may actually be hearing the track bar bumping into the diff housing. This could be accentuated by turning one way or the other because the axle does shift a little in its mounts. I say this but you really should verify that the ring gear is not making contact inside. I would jack up the front and put it on stands, pull the front driveshaft loose at the axle flange and have a buddy to spin the front tires while you listen/feel for contact on the cover. If it's good, address your bent linkages and you should be okay. Good luck!

Here's a quick sketch and some pics of my truck for reference:

I’m with you, noise is vibration. If diff housing was contacting ring gear, there should be some heat marks on the outside. I imagine it would get pretty hot pretty fast.

Another test. Ferris Bueller style, put it up on 4 jack stands in the parking lot, tires off the ground. Get in, put it in drive with a brick on the pedal. Then go check to see where noise is coming from.

Could be done this way but I would not want to go on record as recommending it. I almost ran over my wife one time doing something similar. Oops!:hillbilly:

Check with Garrett if needed he has a front axle housing and a panhard bar.

I was kidding, there are better ways to diagnose this problem.
Direct all legal action to the producers of Ferris Buellers day off. It was their idea.

Another possibility is that you have bent your drag link in to the point that it is contacting your track bar. That could explain the left turn noise and it would definitely be a reason for your steering to be wonked. Your pics don’t show the drag link so there’s no way of knowing based on what we have to look at.
