Sigh. Finally remembered to try out my 20v Porter Cable impact on lug nuts. No dice. It tightens to roughly 65-70ftlbs pretty regularly but can't loosen from that tight. It's handy for zipping the nuts on most of the way before using the torque wrench but I still need the breaker bar to crack them loose in the first place.

Oh, the black 20v batteries suck (but at least they charge fast!). The red ones are so much better.

I love my 1/4" Makita impact. I always loosen with the breaker and zip them off with the impact. Installation is reverse but I finish with the torque wrench. I need either a 3/8" or 1/2" impact but can't justify it. When I pull the engine on the Cruiser, I might get one.

I have the smaller Makita 1/2 in. impact. It will usually break free lug nuts. All but the Excursion.

If your wobbly is too wobbly, slip an O-ring over the u-joint.

Thats a good idea, much better than a big old gob of black tape. Also, those are the best latex gloves in the world.

x2 on the orange super gloves. But the job of black tape is still my go to for a floppy ratchet wrench

I use the 7mil. They make several other thicknesses. I have never used this vendor but the price is pretty good.

I got mine in 2xl for the parts washer so they would slip on and off easier over my fat hands..
From Amazon, about $1.50 a pair, I believe

Slip a piece of shrinktube over the joint, warm it up with a heat gun. Good as new.

Funny, I tried the o-ring trick this past weekend. Took the electrical tape off, then used a green o-ring. Not sure what the application would have been for that color (maybe AC?), but it broke instantly. Wrapped it in electrical tape again, back in business.

Well that's a pisser. My "Northern Tool Bulk O-ring Box" dudes have not had a failure yet.

As such, I do not endorse the use of green o-rings.

Any suggestions for a household chainsaw? Got some trees to cut up and wasn’t sure if I should just go box store chainsaw Will do the trick or if finding a nicer used Stihl would be a better choice.
