Is your vice stand base a forklift wheel?

Yes it is. Plenty heavy and sufficiently large. Seems to serve well as a base.

But it's germ free , i added a disclaimer.

Man is my wife mad at you, you should see what acetone does to laminate kitchen counters, not to mention the carpets. :p
You saved your family!!!

FYI,
several scientific articles show that acetone will kill bacteria on non-living surfaces. As for viruses, they are not alive. But acetone is antiviral and will inhibit viral activity.

warning it will melt more then germs. i wouldn't wipe anything down that is plastic or colored. it is the active ingredent in nail polish remover and paint thinner.

Soap also disassembles viruses and renders them inactive.

It's also great for dispatching stinkbugs when mixed with water. Drop those little basstards into a glass full of soapy water and watch them experience their exoskeleton being eaten away. Do it gently enough and they won't have time to spray. Takes about 5-10 seconds. FYI - their spray attracts other stinkbugs.

75% through reassembling this block grinder / disc sander. At this rate I’ll have my back log of tools and vices restored before May!

Now moving on to another tool...while doing some rearranging of stuff in the garage, I went through all my vises. Found the baby brother of the Reed 106 I refreshed last week, a Reed 103. Going to do this one in the same color as it's big brother. It's in way better shape too!

Thats awesome, which museum will this be going to?

Also...I picked up a bunch of hardware from the same guy I got that Reed 106 from. His dad owned and operated a large truck service station in east Durham years ago and had a bunch of Durham Mfg bins and tons of bolts. Here is half...the other half went to @GLTHFJ60

Grade 8 coarse and fine thread plus metric up to m12.

Finished up a tool rack for the lathe today. Working on a surface conditioning attachment conversion for an angle grinder, should have that finished tomorrow.

@SeanLX no more chuck keys left in the chuck, lol

^That’s nice. Organized and safe.
I see the new toy is working well. I like the speed holes.

My version of a surface conditioning tool. Came out pretty slick if I do say so myself.

Not including drums (which are the consumable), this cost less than $100 including material and the grinder. Can't wait to put it to use.

impressive Johnny....nice work

Does this qualify as a tool? Peeps wanted 350 to haul away stuff. Chipper for the win at 138.

That thing handle 2x12 pressure treated wood? ;) I've got about 20 yards of old decking I'm not wanting to spend $500 renting a dumpster...:)

@jamesurq it should. Up to 6 inches in diameter.
