When I got the policy Hagerty at first said that it had to be in a fully enclosed garage but once I persisted they allowed the open car port.
That was a yearly price. Hagerty doesn't have a pay-as-you-go plan that I am aware of.
I wonder if related to the burned cars out west, and flooded cars in NC/SC this year. A lot of photos of the types of vehicles they would cover being destroyed.

Not purposely trying to bring back up such a passionate subject...I did want to make sure readers understand the numbers above while correct aren’t appropriate by themselves when comparing taxes paid then vs now. Yes, our taxes today at the top bracket are in fact lower then in the 50s, 60s, 70s, etc., the difference in the effective rate isn’t ‘that’ much.
I didn’t realize this until I educated myself after reading the above and being so surprised at how high the tax percentages of the brackets were.

Sounds reasonable. The Hagerty agent would not or could not elaborate as to how they arrived at the increase. But you can bet your sweet bippy they won't lower the premiums! I'll go ahead and pay because it is reasonable costs for the coverage and I simply don't want to go through another insurance search.

This is a bummer. I use hagerty for my grey truck which comes up for renewal in February. Sounds like I should anticipate an increase.
Cost $81 (to pay via CC) to renew right to carry your handgun in your vehicle or in your pocket. On top of the initial permit fee.

I just paid BB&T $8 to cash a check from one of their own accounts! What the fudgepucker is that about? And that’s AFTER my 4 minute wait as the only customer standing in front of 3 tellers doing other things.

BB&T can go suck a dead cold moose in my book. I was the only non employee in the bank (former employer shared the building with them) they refused to give me change for a dollar , because I didn't have an account there. then the only time I ever used a BBT ATM their machine messed up during withdraw. And what do you think it did it , ate my freaking card.

Georgine is baselining nicely. The brake booster/pump/expensive thing-a-ma-bobby went out a few months ago so with the help of @beno I replaced the entire assembly. Bench bled, installed, bled all four wheels, cycled the ABS (or so I thought), and drove for a few thousand miles. Get in last night to fill 'er up (19.8 gallons of premium ethanol free) and the brakes are spongy. Not even remotely interested in working on this rig over the weekend so I am bowing down to my local Toyota dealership to TechStream the brake fluid exchange to remove air from everywhere. Ordered the cable from Amazon that will get in Tuesday for my pirated copy of TechStream. OCD maintenance is one thing, this is just bad timing.

Two reasons we sold my wife's '04 LX470:
1. Stereo. CD player in console was a bad idea. It never worked during the time I owned the truck. Mark Levinson amp went out three times in 18 months. Each time I had to remove the amp and send it to New York for repair (not a cheap repair, mind you). Stereo down time was about two weeks each time. Amanda was not real happy about that. Removing the amp was not fun either. The carpet under the passenger seat looked like a crime scene from all the cuts and blood letting from scraping my hands.
2. Brake problems. Pulsing brakes. First I machined rear rotors and replaced pads. Great brakes for a couple of months. Pulsing returned. Replaced all four rotors and pads (big job on the fronts). Great brakes for 6 months. Pulsing returned. Rebuilt all four calipers and machined rotors (again, big job on the fronts) and replaced pads. Great brakes for about 6 months. Sold it with pulsing brakes. I was always nervous that the brake fluid pump would fail and that I'd get the call that the brake light had come on. It never did though. Just last week I threw away six boxes of barely used LX470 brake pads because each time I dug into the brakes, I'd always replace the pads while I was in there, throwing good money at bad.
It was a phenomenal vehicle. I loved it. Amanda loved it. I got just tired of working on it under the stress of it being the main family vehicle. It couldn't be down for more than a day or two at the time. We got a '17 GX460. I think it's a fugly truck. It rides nice. Handles a lot better than the LX. I miss the space of the LX. I sure don't miss the brakes though.

@roadstr6 So what I am hearing is keep the Camry to tool around in while I rebuild the braking system every few months in Georgine. Challenge accepted. Next I will need a 40 to round out the family (seriously). Buster is still Buster and now Comet is sporting cloth seats. Slow progress on all three. Brakes....UGH!
ROAD SALT!!! I know it’s a necessary evil but good lord doesn’t the DOT understand that there are people out there that only drive 20 year old or older Toyota’s!?!? 4Runner is already coated and I refuse to put the 80 on the road until after it rains to wash the roads off. The grey spatter on the tire and fender well is where I got to drive on the road before the brine even had time to dry.
