Petty complaint time.

Surfed classifieds, found a set of SOR duck cloth seat covers for a good price, through PM we agree on a price and was paid for immediately via PayPal as a friend (I absorbed the additional cost), response the next day was that the covers would probably go out after Christmas and asked if that was ok (WTF, who does this $hit, it's only the 18th?), calmed down and responded appropriately that if the covers were in the same shape represented in the pics then I could wait, get response in PM today that he found someone local to buy the covers and he was refunding my money. Again my brain goes to WTF, who does this $hit?

Is it wrong of me to be so bent out of shape over this individuals behavior? Have I missed something in the exchange of money for goods that were promised? Why are my expectations so high of fellow mudders that I would be insulted by this lack of ethics and business acumen? Why am I using acumen in a sentence, probably out of context? Have I been surfing CHAT too much lately and just looking for something to be mad about so I can fit in? Awaiting his response but not expecting much at this point.

That sounds like par for the course with any social media business transaction anymore. It’s a shame really.

Well that sucks for us then. Last week or the week before I got excited and purchased some mud flaps for my 80 series here at ONSC, paid for them, and then realized this week that they are for an 80 with flares. My flares are in the top of my garage gathering dust. Did I stop shipment or ask for my money back, nope. It was a stupid tax on my part and I hope to learn from it. BTW, I have mud flaps front and back for an 80 series without side steps for sale as soon as I remember to get in @JohnVee truck. Also the flares can be had, not sure of condition.

@David1947 I believe public shaming is an appropriate response on a public forum. I was young once and my brain didn't work all the time. If I screw up, I expect to be called on it and taken to task. This forum member didn't even give it a second thought on what he was doing.

Well poop, Travis. if it's any consolation, I bought the mudflaps without realizing they would not work with my sliders, so I feel your pain. I also paid more for them than i sold them for. theres a guy in the classified section that was interested in them, until you bought them. I'd bet hed still be interested in them.

If you are traveling on I85 in SC just south of Gaffney, stay out of the passing lane. My daughter encountered the pot hole from hell along with about 12 other vehicles yesterday. The cut tire resulted in an immediate deflation and she was lucky to get off the highway without an accident. To their credit, the SCDOT crews were johnny-on-the-spot to help her change the tire and others who were strung out on the shoulder. She did call the SC Highway Patrol and they were aware of the problem but hadn't done anything to help.

Then she was able to limp into Gaffney and the Walmart children in the service area were celebrating, their bosses were off doing charitable work so they were playing and ignoring their work.

She did make it here safely.

Insurance companies!

Just received the renewal for next years coverage for the 40 from Hagerty. It went up $138 for no apparent reason, I haven't had any claims and I haven't increased the agreed on value. So I called this morning and the polite lady on the other end told me that because they have had a lot of claims for comprehensive coverage my policy went up $114 for the comprehensive alone. Who knows what the other $24 is for. Grundy won't cover it unless I have a fully enclosed garage. Maybe I need to start another insurance search(?!?) or simply pay the policy and quit wasting time.

Just got my renewal notice today. Annual premium went up 131 bucs...28% increase. Yay...

Big time complaint/rant!

They told me, go to the VA they said, you'll like it. Go to the VA they said, you will be treated well.

So I signed up for treatment, told I was eligible for free treatment. Got free hearing aids, they are worth what I paid for them. Had an endoscopy, my heart stopped while I was on the table. Bastards almost killed me.

To add insult to injury I received a bill for co-pays in July for $475.00. So much for free care. Called the 800 number and the rep said they took my gross income off my 1040. What about deductions? That is only a claim he said. The IRS accepts your claim, we require proof. Send us your receipts and we will look into it. (Later heard horror stories about the VA losing the receipts.)

This started a round of phone calls and letters to the VA about their co-pay debt. I offered a compromise settlement amount. The instructions said to offer at least 50% and I offered more. They refused. Said I needed to pay $50/mo, I offered $30. Contacted Sen Thom Tills office here in High Point and they contacted their VA rep and after a few weeks was told my payment offer had been accepted. Paid Sept, Oct and Nov, on time.

Received a letter from the VA on Monday telling me the payment plan had not been established and my $475.00 debt was now $422.26. It also said the debt had been forwarded to the Treasury Dept for servicing.

Called the Treasury Dept today and after being on hold for 30 minutes finally spoke with a rep. Funny thing, the $422.26 debt has ballooned up to $548.94. When I asked why the kind rep told me that is just what the Treasury Dept does, arbitrarily adds 30%. I can make regular payments, no date or amount given, and the full payment will be applied to the debt.

Called the VA again. The rep told me no request for a payment plan had been received, mailed late Aug, and since no payment plan was made they referred the balance to the Treasury Dept. No more letters or contact after Aug, just sent it to another govt agency.

As I told the Treasury Dept rep, I would rather deal with the Mafia, the most they would do is either break a leg or kill me. The govt agency can take everything I owe with just a single stroke of a pen, making me homeless. No wonder vets are dying as they wait for treatment. The pencil pushers at the VA are more concerned with $'s and lives means little to nothing.
