Dang that REDARC looks beefy. I got a CTEK D250S but if it doesn’t work out, I may have to look into one of those.

The mulitiple, patented, charging profiles seem pretty outstanding in the Redarc unit, from reading at least. Even with the diode you're not getting proper charge to the AGMs (especially with a LiFePO4).

Built the most ghetto bracket for the shower pump and heat exchanger. It's secure though. I'll make a nicer one after Baja. Still need to plumb and wire everything.
Battle Born Lithium installed with some hammering of the stock mount.
Compressor mount installed.
Reprogrammed my Gopower for Lithium.
Tomorrow is wiring of the Redarc, lights, shower. Some maintenance stuff. Then clean and pack.
It's a dirty mess under there now.

I really like the Battle Born batteries and was considering them for my off the grid solar system but decided against them for now because they would live in a place that gets below 25F. Their battery management system does restrict charging for safety reasons when temps get too low or too high. I wonder if the under-hood temps of the LC could run over 135F?
From the Battle Born owner's manual about the battery management system:
High temperature: 135F
Will not allow a charge or discharge.
Low temperature: 25F

It'll be wrapped in gold insulation. The temp thing is definitely a concern. At least it won't kill itself, it'll just stop being useful until it cools or warms up. Worst case, if it stops working, I'll relocate it to the cabin next to the inverter. Shouldn't take me more than 30 mins to move and rewire it with my current arrangement.
I considered a heat exchanger but opted for a tankless water heater for my truck. Way less elegant but hot water on demand even if I’ve been parked all night. The only thing better than doing morning dishes with warm water is not doing dishes at all.

Nope. The exchanger itself gets very hot, it just gets overpowered by the water as opposed to the water getting overpowered by the coolant. The shower water is nice a toasty for a few seconds then cools down. I'm going to swap the hot coolant feed to another source tomorrow but I doubt it'll change much.

Can you run it back into your water supply and basically run it twice?
That is the exact opposite of the shower in my trailer when I leave the water on but close off the shower head. Flipping it back on the first few seconds freeze my nuts off, then it gets hot again.
Your heat exchanger and my shower head apparently need to produce an offspring.

No issues with the Lithium in the engine bay as far as heat goes. At one point it was in the high 80s outside and I had 150 degree intake temps, the battery was still discharging/charging. It lasted about two days of fridge and 2000W inverter usage.
Ordered up a SwitchPro as my wiring is out of hand.
I have a bunch of maintance to do before the 28th when I'm off to Moab for the Southwest Overland trip which leads into Cruise Moab.

While cleaning the engine bay I guess some water got in the AIP system and it's throwing codes. Stupid LBJ, democrat, tree-hugger tech.
I've been meaning to get an AIP bypass ordered before this happened, but this moved up that timeline. I had this on my Tundra and it was very simple.

But ya, that sucks.
This is why I've been nervous about spraying my engine bay clean...
Not sure what spots to avoid other than the obvious.
How are you liking the Redarc setup? Looks to potentially be a better option than a traditional dual battery setup.

Very good. Small and powerful little unit.
It's a set it-forget it type thing so no complaints so far. Keeps both batteries topped up. I ran my Lithium dead after keeping my inverter on for two days so I know for a fact the battery isolation works.
I haven't wired in my solar yet but that's next before Moab.
