This is the only Westcott above coil spacer in the kit I received. Solid aluminum…All for experimenting and breaking new ground so I'm exciting you're pushing the envelop.
Couple thoughts
- Preload - in regards to AHC, both in coil and above coil spacers are going to contribute to pre-load of the coil spring. That's because neutral height is governed by the AHC system rather than falling on the coilovers to find equilibrium.
- It's kind of...interesting that the Wescott above coil spacer is not solid? I'm not sure the stud mount is designed for play there. You'll get some weird noises through the chassis as the stud threads saw against the bucket mount if it's allowed to compress there. I would mount it tightly and not assume it should compress.
Or are you referring to the fact that it doesn’t extend around the outside of the studs but stays floating around inside them?
