Or are you referring to the fact that it doesn’t extend around the outside of the studs but stays floating around inside them?

Yeah its the existing one.
If you look inside the bucket, the surface is not flat, its dimpled at the stud posts.
My rubber spacer conforms to that, and also fills the outer diameter.
The westcott locates on the studs and is designed to only fit one way to all 4 studs. There is almost no play in it with the way that it was designed. You have to rotate it until it slips on.
The way ive stacked my two, ill get metal to metal at the bucket for a more true torque reading this time, and the rubber “isolator” spacer im still using will help center as well.
Either way there is no play @TeCKis300 , and i rechecked torque in my last install, nothing had budged.
There is so much force pushing up on that even in full droop in stock form you have to drop the lower arm to even get it to budge.
I bet it can be ran without any nuts at all. Lol

Yes sir, yes sir.
The passenger is in! And boy oh boy was there A LOT of drama.
Fitting that tall ass strut assembly back in there was an utter nightmare.
So much so that I had to cam out my LCA for the coil seat to clear the bump stop sloped mount in the front to pull the shock mount forward for clearance.
So much so that I had to grind out a sliver of the bucket at each side to slip the top spacer through.
This is with everything but the axle and tie rod already completely loosened.
Including the speed sensors detached, slacked, and UCA zip tied up out of the way (im not dealing with that long bolt again).
Good news is the dual locking jaw style compressors worked a treat.
I had a shock alignment issue at first where the top hat no longer matched up to the bucket.
I had the preload collar exact, and the coil EXACTLY where its indentions were on the top hat.
But that clocked it off by about 45 degrees.
It seems that with the preload, the coil rotates a bit under compression, as i believe is normal for a coil to do.
Since its losing length, the coil twists as it compresses. So if youre anal like me and wanted it perfect, that will not work.
Just mark your shock eyelet and collar and but the top plate out markings exactly lined up to the shock mount eyelets outer rim.
The real fun part was the AHC hose, and as im sure @Killacaviar knows, you cant really see s***.
I experienced exactly what you mentioned in the other thread (there are so many) but i did not clock the rubber hose standoff.
My ahc hose did not like that sideways movement. If i twisted it into the sideways possition, the hose collapsed in on itself.
Instead i notched both sides and it fell right in.
I even notched the washer to slip into that gap, and stay there.
The pro tip.
When you reassemble the strut, you want to torque your top nut with that hose standoff bushing clocked exactly in line with everything mentioned above.
Trying to safely alter its position is not only pushing the coil against that whole top plate rubber seat, but also torquing your shocks AHC hard line inlet.
I was stupid for trying to align it to the wear marks, when really, lining this up can be done by eye.
This is pretty much how it should look up there.
So with all my love marks, can anyone recomend the best hardening oem like touch up paint for all my maring of the coil, ahc fitting, bucket etc?

Just installed new coils over the weekend and had the cheapo rental spring compressor pop. Luckly no one was injured, but yeah.. take extra precaution guys when installing new springs and use a good heavy duty spring compressor.

So just finished the other strut. Remember that “good” compressor i posted?
I decided out of caution to lube and inspect it. One side had most of the threads chewed through. The thread collar inside the body was only like 1/4”. 1/4” of s***ty threads holding your life together. Good thing i ordered three and used the other one.
I dissembled it first and the inside threading was an inch on this one, however all the other pieces were cheaper chinesium.
Apparently SPC makes the “real” one, I’m buying copies of copies.

All of this junk is getting returned, and i don’t think ill be doing coil compression for a long while after this.

$170 doesn’t seem so bad to get a specialty tool. Considering what you’re saving on professional install anyhow.
Do they just not make them like they use to anymore? I have a basic HF spring compressor that I've probably had for 20 yrs and used on prob 10+ installs for myself and friends. Should I knock on wood?
You're probably already doing this but might be worth mentioning... try to grab as many coils as possible at the far ends of the coils as possible, with the compression tool at its full extension. That reduces forces and maximizes compressed length. Grease the threads. Try and compress eveningly.

Shame about the spring compressor, but at least you got the job done and lived to tell the tale. Springs are something I refuse to touch; knowing myself as well as I do, I'd manage to level the whole neighbourhood in the process.
I actually canceled my Prime membership a few days ago and have started making a concentrated effort to shop elsewhere. Endless fake product reviews, endless items with intentionally incorrect descriptions, they regularly censor and don't publish polite, factual bad reviews, nothing ever arrives in promised timeframe, delivery courier that Amazon uses (Intelcom) is staffed exclusively by some of the worst people I've ever met, the products that do arrive are frequently used/damaged/need to be replaced, customer service is non-existent, and worst of all, everyone at Amazon is perfectly aware of all these problems, and doesn't care one bit because it's profitable for them. I recently had to return/exchange/re-buy the same 12v switch FOUR times until I finally received what was advertised.
Two years ago it was the polar opposite, but now I will avoid Amazon every chance I get.

At the top of this post you mentioned installing the Westcott lift.
1. Which components of their lift was used? (I noticed bottom collar isn't visible and wasnt sure if rear coil spacer was used)
2. Any particular reason for choosing the Ironman UCA's?

Of course thats why Im here. Sorry for the sporadic posting, i made this thread late in the game and will organise it soon. My install is taking forever because i dont have room to fully drop the LCA in my garage and several failed “tools”.
I was at a 1” sensor lift front and rear, and got tired of the over pressurized condition.
i am installing the full westcott kit.
The 12.5mm top spacer, in addition to my existing 15mm (for further lifting later), the preload collar you can see at the shock seat flange in post 44 above, and the rear 30mm preload top spacer for the coils, where i am running twin oem tall coils from the passenger side to equalize the rear axle and correct the built in lean.
the ironman UCA is IMO the best, specifically for the LX for several reasons.
1) factory precise positioned ahc bracket built in )only other is tough dog i believe)
2) forged
3) clocked for 4 degree caster (perfect for my needs)
4) all oem fittings and joint (and maintenance free)
5) added coil space for potential added droop motion range
6) well priced
7) looks good

Everything is in. My joints hurt.
Only thing left to do is get the wheels on, bleed AHC, and torque to spec on ground.
I might hit all my bushings with AT-205.
My only issue is the bump stops. They're so welded on that ill chew through em all before i get them off.
I have no wrench capable of remotely gripping them at their paper thin little "bolt head". Is there an SST or something for it?
I better to do some testing before I jump it over the neighborhood speed bumps...
But like we discussed, at 25mm there should be no overcompression concerns.
@grinchy eager to hear about your install. If anyone can give feedback on front and rear bump stop upgrade, ill need it soon.
I also need to get the liners back in, but i have some flaps to install ive been keeping secret. Oh, and the pedal commander.
First trip will be to home depot for some AHC link hardware, second trip is the alignment rack

Unfortunately the top links AHC sensor arms are welded on... I wont be able to drop in the adjustables as easily as i thought.
Springs were also side swapped to even them out like the front. Ghetto suspension "refresh".

That looks intense to work that low on the ground. I see what you were dealing with now. With the LXs new found height, you might want to consider modding your garage? Looks like the garage lift motor is your lowest point? There's these contraptions where they locate the motor on the wall that I've considered just to clean up the garage.

No, i did not but the shock was calipered on my end and westcott confirmed on theirs.
Call them and talk to Caleb, hell know me and the LX and will measure whatever you need. Its a direct fit though and same shock body as the lc overall diameter.
