What is everyone doing to the black wrapped part in our 80s? When monstalining your rigs have most of you just taped up that part and left it as-is? My "wrap" got destroyed when the dumbass PO decided to cover a broken window with gorilla tape which he left on for years and when removed of course it messed it up. So I was thinking about lining it black but removing the wrap completely, also to take care of some rust around the 3rd row sliding windows. Any inputs?

Did mine this weekend in Get Hammered, rolled on. Love how it turned out.

Every time I talk myself out of lining my rig I see this thread pop up with a post like yours. Looks good. How many gallons did you end up using? Extra rollers? Any other quick post-job thoughts?

Thank you! I really like it. I’m glad I did it, As much as I wanted a real paint job I couldn’t get behind the idea of all that hard work getting scratched up lol.
I ordered two gallons, I probably had about a quart leftover for touch up.
One tip is by a 2 gallon bucket with a lid to mix. Pour what you need in the roller tray and put the lid back on the rest in between. I left the what was left of the liner closed up overnight and noon the next day it was still good. I ordered 10 rollers total and used 8-9 I think.

Will the red inside the doors drive you nuts?

For the folks who have had monstaliner on their trucks for a few years.....hows it holding up? I'm considering doing mine in white, but I'm not sure how well it will clean up. I'm not looking for anything amazing, obviously, but I also don't want it to look like the rinoliner in the bed of my truck. Does it trap dirt? Do you spray anything special on the coating in order to help it stand up to UV rays?

I went to 37's and monstalined at the same time, came out ok. Of course, I then promptly took the truck out and crunched the driver side front fender, rear quarter and passenger drip rail.

I hope it’s ok that I post here, as I used to own a pink pantied 4 and a half. I now have 100 and was going to line the rocker portion and the side moldings. What do I clean the molding with? I know MEK damages some plastics.

Answered: It is ok to clean with MEK because the moldings are painted.

Has anyone ordered anything small from Magnet Paints/Mostaliner lately? I ordered the full chip kit, and a roller on the 5th, and I haven't heard s--t or seen an envelope yet. I know all sorts of supply issues etc. are still hindering almost every industry, but how does that relate to keeping customers informed? Send an email, make a call for craps sake. Supply issues are completely independent from customer service/relations.

@HMM That looks really good!

I'll get better pics soon, in the middle of doing axle seals and bearings now. Got the sliders on but no bumpers, sold the front bumper a few weeks ago and still haven't bought a replacement...

So after 4 years in the California Central Valley sun, I’m starting to see some fade in my Monstaliner. The sun here can be brutal so I’m not surprised. What are you guys using to spruce things up?

Here it was day one March 1, 2017.

I washed the rig today and decided to put some of this on it.

Here is the difference it made. The side is done, the back is not.

I think it did a good job. We’ll see how long it last.

Maybe I missed it, but how are you guys prepping the side view mirrors for lining? I’ll be spraying mine desert tan in a few weeks. Been watching this thread for a year and I’m very impressed with some of the results.
