LOL if i could get a electric fan to work it would have been in there . I did put a Pusher fan on the front at one point and it works I just dont care for the look of it . Somehow someway i am going to figure this out so that my 40 crawls and stays cool . I Can not move my trans / t case back anymore as the drum brake would be into my rear lower link mount . So i either find a t case that sits closer to the th400 trans and has more clearance for a rear u joint . or i change transmissions What i am not sure of is if i get a atlas will it tick the boxes i need . They do not have the drum brake and the rear output would be centered so would it give me say 3 inches to go back ??? This i do not know. I would love to keep the auto in it .

I fought what you were going through for a while. It's why I ended up with the drivetrain that I did. I wanted something super driveable while still being low enough to crawl. It's a big challenge for sure.

It would require some work, but minimal costs to see if an Atlas would solve your issues using a mock-up.

Now this is gold 🤩.

Heater, check out a rear heater from a 60' or 62', self contained just add power & water & can put almost anywhere.
You using stock radiator, NO, put a stock radiator in and the fan will have room. I am with you on the 465, its a constant toss up , at the end of the day the stick will slow you down a bit as the gap between 2nd & 3rd is a shift fest sometimes or just go slower thats why the auto allows more average speed plus down hill the auto is faster but you ride the brakes, I like the control with the stick, if your engine will idle really low its almost like an EV.

I have the stock rad mount and the aluminum rad fits like a stock rad. It’s not the rad. It’s the placement of my engine because of the TH400 trans. Something needs to shrink or move 3 inches One way or another it’s going to get fixed . 60 heater. Sounds interesting

I have a rear heater unit you can have if you want to try it out. For s***s and giggles you could check with georg and see if there is a th400 output that has same spline as 1 of the orion inputs gears then you could make a plate adapter, ditch the spud shaft & housing, pick up that 3" or go to the 465 then I'll have a chance at keeping up.

Spent a few hours this weekend messing with things. Finally putting things together 😃

That is to install the locking strip

is it actually helpful? did you still use lube?
my thumbs hated me after installing similar rubber in the Datsun.
Once i figured out how it actually worked , It took me about 45 seconds to install . I just sprayed glass cleaner as a lube i know they sell some though .

So when I got this hard top it had this cool
Crager center cap covering the cb ball mount holes 🤦🏻‍♂️. I decided to not use the Crager center cap 😂. And got a new ball mount and antenna 😃
