Well, I know it will be something new for you, but we thought it might be a good idea to bolt the body down to the frame supports!

Sealed it up and squirted some paint. The mount bolts go through the lower beam, then are covered by the plugs. It's very solid, before would flex, get wonky, from simply leaning on the floor, now can jump on the floor without significant flex.

Been working the rockers, got the front end fitting pretty well and made mounts, so they can be bolted on.

There are going to be a few challenges: On the driver side there is a rust hole very close to the planned new paint blend line, can be seen in the pic. Both fenders are going to require some "talking to" like with hammers, to get them back into some semblance of alignment. Then will need to be trimmed shorter.

For this we used Dap paintable, outdoor, black caulk, the same stuff we used to fill the tub holes on Rootbeer. For the more exposed stuff, will be using seam sealer. The Dap stuff works well, not sure that the automotive stuff is worth the extra $, especially for a trail rig?

Yep.Grommets and plugs are pretty difficult to find aftermarket, especially in the size/shape needed and quickly. So, they are high on our pick and pull harvest list, have a big box of them. These were for the same application, body mount access hole plugs, on a 2nd gen 4Runner. More importantly they are the correct size for one of the punch dies, so easy to make a perfect hole!
