They do only mount on one side Pablo. The other side bolts to the running board.

Ohhhh I cannot wait to see the Side steps/Sliders. Those are going to be sick. I still think you should replace the the part of the rocker panel that is loose. Did you get the body lined up?

Yup, body is pretty well sitting where we want it. We still need to finish up getting the height adjusted on the body mounts so they are even with the extra tall rear sill. Looks like we will add 3/4". Got the front clip all loose so we can raise it to match. John

Not really going to be sliders, more like HD running boards, that look stockish, kinda. Going to weld new metal in that area, how much,,, will see?

What about the channel in the rear floor? Is that finished already? That looked like a mess! :eek:

Working that today, just picked up the metal. Going to be a bit of a trick with the tub on the rig?

What is the history on the tailgate? Just trying to date the design change. The tailgate on the top is from a 1960 FJ25, have a 62 tailgate which still has footman loop bolted not welded on. Bottom tailgate is from a 71.

I bought the tailgate at the CSC meet from a really nice guy who isn't on MUD - I didn't ask for the year - he had gotten it with a pile of parts when he got his 40 and decided he didn't need it

if I were there in person, I would just about now drop an underhanded remark about the somewhat arbitrary appearing placement of the future spot welds :p - but since I am 1500 miles away, I won't :hillbilly:

not that it really matters, there'll be carpet over it :flamingo:

Those are not spot weld holes, they are Cleco clamps, placed were needed to pull the parts together/maintain alignment. There will be a constellation of spot weld holes and the Cleco holes will be plug welded shut, likely the last things to be welded on that part of the project.

Went to measure for the cross beam and decided that it would be best to know for sure that the tub is setting square/level on the frame? Inkpot & Nick worked that, who would have thunk that nether the frame or the tub are straight?:hillbilly: Pealed the shims off of the stock body mounts, used them to fit it. Took some playing, but got everything lined up, good door, hood, fender, etc, gaps,, well,,, as good as bent parts can fit.:hillbilly:
 
While they were playing with the body, I went to work on this 4x4" tube. Clamped on a non-conductive straight edge and went to town with the plasma.

There was a pair of new HD rockers in there!:hillbilly:

A bit more chopping to the front ends of them and they fit on the rig.

I am so stealing that one build two That is going to look awesome when your done. I freaken love this post mostly because I am on Deck. I am curious to know what the back edge will look like. Are you going to angle it to match the small patch piece. Last question with the back side will you weld a back plate on it so it appears to be capped off?
