Drilled the spot weld holes in the floor, installed the beam and welded it in. How it looked from the bottom, failed to take a pic from the top.

help me out, I've been away from the truck for too long already, why do we need a hole there ?
Well, I know it will be something new for you, but we thought it might be a good idea to bolt the body down to the frame supports!:grinpimp:

that will be an entirely new feeling

Sealed it up and squirted some paint. The mount bolts go through the lower beam, then are covered by the plugs. It's very solid, before would flex, get wonky, from simply leaning on the floor, now can jump on the floor without significant flex.:hillbilly:

very nice - appreciate the regular spacing :D

Looking good. What did you seal it with?

Been working the rockers, got the front end fitting pretty well and made mounts, so they can be bolted on.

There are going to be a few challenges: On the driver side there is a rust hole very close to the planned new paint blend line, can be seen in the pic. Both fenders are going to require some "talking to" like with hammers, to get them back into some semblance of alignment. :hillbilly: Then will need to be trimmed shorter.

For this we used Dap paintable, outdoor, black caulk, the same stuff we used to fill the tub holes on Rootbeer. For the more exposed stuff, will be using seam sealer. The Dap stuff works well, not sure that the automotive stuff is worth the extra $, especially for a trail rig?

Gotcha. Makes sense.

John, you keep your secret sauce to yourself. Pics look great. Claudia may have to learn to drive this all over again what will you do with a rig that does what you tell it to do?

my truck knows where it wants to go - I just listen to it and follow :hillbilly: :steer:

Didn't he make them to fit the four runner plugs?

Yep.Grommets and plugs are pretty difficult to find aftermarket, especially in the size/shape needed and quickly. So, they are high on our pick and pull harvest list, have a big box of them. These were for the same application, body mount access hole plugs, on a 2nd gen 4Runner. More importantly they are the correct size for one of the punch dies, so easy to make a perfect hole!:hillbilly:

I need to start a list of the highly coveted parts so if I am somewhere I know what to snag!

Claudia Honestly I would never question your ability I know what you are capable of!

actually, you don't :flipoff2:

...

Better not be caught raiding our little collection of wrecks, or there will be no more :cookie: for you!:hillbilly:

I am gonna keep a list in the truck that way when I am driving somewhere obscure I can check. Where are our pics of side steps you guys are slacking. We don't want cookies only side steps.
