We lit up @JohnVee 's NOS Army lantern this weekend. What a sight! Brand new out of the box from 1975 and she lit right up. Parts and wrench well is incredible, also love how the tank cap and funnel are attached to the lantern with chains. The glass is actually 4 individual pieces of curved glass and the hat nut is riveted into the hat so it can't get lost! Love those little innovations and wish we could get them on the civilian lanterns!

I'll like John post up pictures of it. Was a very special experience, thank you sir :)

Unfired Coleman 237 Empire Projector Lantern - Society for Visual Education - Coleman Collectors Forum

more info from the Terry Marsh site:

Coleman 237 lanterns with an American Optical film strip and slide projector (left)
and a Society for Visual Education Inc. slide and film strip projector (right).
The potential markets were missionaries and rural communities
that lacked electric power, according to a 1949 Coleman News.
These undated lanterns are in Dick Sellers', left, and Shirley Willard's, right, collections.
The Charles Beseler Co. also made a similar projector for this lantern.

Go get that thing. It's highly unusual and cool, especially if unfired.

Holy Sh!T - With Nitrate Film ?

Never even knew anything like that existed....

That is an awesome find!!!

if you're not going to pony up for it, where can I find it?
