Haha, Beno I hope it didn't come off like I was bitching or had hard feelings. lol.

I totally get the desire for a TRD SC'r for people that trust Toyota. And the buyers for a SC'r and a Turbo might be different people. No matter what happens I would still really like to move forward with the SC'r intercooler setup since I think that is needed no matter what.

I will let the business man who has taken on the turbo project, figure out what he is going to do. I think no matter what he is going to do one run of turbo kits, how many that might be is anyone's guess, but having both a SC'r and a Turbo option, it could be a whole lot worse. Haha.

To clarify: I was calling on behalf of a client of mine who wants one of these SC units.

I do not intend to carry them, promote them, group buy them, or any of that stuff. That's not my gig.

Also, the person I talked to gave me no guarantees or time frames.

Just "soon" in one sentence and "shortly" in another.

That could be read as 6 weeks, 6 months, a year? Who knows.

I'm a fan of either (/both?), no matter how many stickers I add am not getting adequate hp gains

thank you for the info, homework, etc.

Personally, I am **very** excited for the developing Turbo. I would go in that direction if this was me for a number of reasons the main ones being supporting a small US business who supports this community.

There is no replacement for that in our small world.

Problem for the turbo is at least with the SC we can kinda fake it that its CARB approved for us CA folks. I would like to keep my 80 for a long long time and will need to figure out what to do with the engine. Stock power makes driving a chore where I like exploring in the Sierras. Need either a SC or vortec swap i imagine, or a different rig :(

The Safari turbo w/ intercooler is CARB approved. It would not be that difficult to make up some stickers and pass off a turbo setup as the Safari. How with the smog tech know it is not the real thing. There is no real identifying labels on my SC that prove it is the real other than the one sticker under the hood. On these old AWD trucks, they actually test very little in CA, it primarily all visual except for the tail pipe sniffer. I'm actually amazed how much smog equipment I have removed and pass without issue for +20-years now.
