Do you have a link for the battery box? Is that whole box the same product with the usb ports and read out on it? Would you recommend it again or do a more custom job?

Doesn't look like they carry the specific one I used anymore. The readout and ports was pre-integrated in the metal case.

It's working well. Looks like it came from some proprietary application. YMMV.

Absolutely love the organization of this build thread, and have it bookmarked now.

My philosophy for my 200 build will be literally identical to this.

Thanks for taking the time to organize all your work!

Had the pleasure of meeting @TeCKis300 and seeing his bad boy in person.

His attention to detail on keeping everything discrete and clean is very much appreciated and respected.

Once i get back from the Arctic in September, ill be selling my Camperthing and moving to a 200 series of some variant

Stoked to meet new local gear head friends!

I miss the LC community

Likewise! Wasn't sure what to expect when you said you were bringing a camper, and OMG, what a camper. Self built from the ground up on 42s?!

I look forward to your future cruiser and the fresh ideas you'll bring.

Ha! Thanks! Was a super fun project, but at the end of the day, its not the ideal machine for what I do.

Ironically, Those 42s are half the reason i am selling it! LOL

They're the only available option with the load rating to run singles, and they are absolutely miserable on the freeway!

The next iteration after i sell it, will be very similar to yours. A 200 for exploring, and a trailer for the accommodations.

The 200 build will be mild. BUT, the trailer build, that's another story! :)

Just to clarify, a 200 would be much less weight, therefore you have your pick of 42’s at your disposal. Don’t count that size out quite yet 🤓

Called it. I still need to add more detail to the thread linked. Needed some time to figure out how I feel about it. Spent a long weekend with it out in the open expanses of Borrego Springs and there's no denying that having a giant standalone tablet with Gaia maps, Spotify, and whatever other app works wonders. Haven't bothered getting the backup rear cam function working. Probably the largest disappointment is the displays off-axis performance, lack of brightness, and sensitivity to polarized sunglasses.

Looks amazing 👌🏼 Is it easy to turn off for night driving?

Does the mirror auto rear view on reverse though?

Nighttime brightness and glare from the display was a concern but was not an issue. There's a brightness shortcut that has quick access to 3 brightness settings and works great night wheeling in the pitch black desert. I didn't find one yet, but I'm sure it'd be easy to have a app shortcut to turn off the display completely.

Does the mirror auto rear view on reverse though?

The mirror has accommodations to hook into a reverse signal but that would just overlay reverse lines on the display. Didn't bother with that.

I have the rear camera mounted really high in the interior just under the 3rd brake light. This makes it work normally looking at the horizon. I do have to manually pan down on the mirror display (swiping down), to get a better look at say bumper clearance or hitching. Can't quite see the ball with this camera location unfortunately. That's the one use case I may want to fix reverse for the Tesla GT6.

I'm pretty happy with how dialed it is for offroad and camping trips. I like to build understated sleepers and she's the definition of that with the wolf part turned pretty far at this point...really doesn't need anything else. But like most of us, I'm still always scheming.

Been enjoying FLX as a willing and reliable partner at the mall, off-road, and everything in between.

That picture of you outside Golden Acorn Casino brings back memories. One Christmas I was returning from El Cajon and we hit snow, I was in my wife's Corolla at the time. The whole time driving in the snow I was cussing myself out about how I should've brought the 4Runner or Land Cruiser. We got stuck once because everyone stopped going up hill but I was able to push us out.
