my HB use #8 inlet and #6 outlet ..

Hmmm, thats weird. Usually the return line is larger than the high pressure side. Hopefully it will work out ok.

Also I am beginning to look for some new tires, I need to sell my old ones first to make some money back.

So far my list looks like this:
40" Maxxis Trepador Bias

View attachment 653043

42" Interco TSL

View attachment 653044

Or Just run my 35" KM2s

View attachment 653045

Does anyone have any input on running any of these tires? I have heard nothing but good things about the Treps.
And TSLs have been around for a long time.

Mmmm I would need to double check that .. I could be wrong ..

By the way, I haven't tried it yet but I do have the parts on hand for a go at it! tach wiring that is.

here is what the crank sensor looked like before i removed it and added the abs sensor.

Found this pic of just before I put the sensor on. You can see the way the notches are different from the last picture I posted and where how the bracket can work.

Did you cut extra notches in the 6BT harmonic balancer?
Also what ABS sensor did you use?

Yep, cut an extra notch to have three total. Local scrap yard had a trashed 6bt so I used that balancer to practice on with the notches. i think it is critical to have a decent gap for the sensor to pick up. Not depth, width. I think i used a ford explorer abs sensor. it is a 2 wire sensor. The dodge crank is a 3 wire. I didn't want to try to figure out what was what so i just ebayed the explorer sensor. All of my assumptions are based on the link I sent before. Let me know what happens if I don't get there first!

Cool, I'll have to try that out. what did you notch it with?
I wish the junkyards had spare 6bt's by me.

I wouldn't run 35's, you have to much of everything to run 35's. Smallest I would run is 37's. I am particular to 16-17" wheels on the skinny side so for me that would be a deciding factor too.

I haven't ran Treps before but always wanted a set. I have however ran several sets of Creepies and like them a lot. They will clog up in mud and clay but what won't besides Boggers!? I have noticed Creepeis when wet won't hook up on the rocks as well as when dry.

Interco: had me some Boggers. It can't be beat for mud slingin'. Otherwise I don't like Interco tires much.

I would add Krawlers to your list as well as some MTR's.

If it was me I would go Maxxis (Creepeis or Treps), BFG (Krawlers or KM2's) and 3rd choice would be MTRs. Pitbulls interest me a little but don't come in sizes I like.

Last bit....shop around for used tires. I sold a set of five 40" Creepeis for $2200 and they had 90%+ tread on them and I paid over $3k for the set. And that isn't even a screaming deal. On Pirate and lot's of other places you can find great deals on tires if you have cash in hand and are ready to buy.

My 2 cents

Nice work Stevo.. Keep the momentum going.

Thanks man, I haven't had too much time to work on the cruiser lately but that should change once I start getting some more parts. I have a bunch of stuff on the way.

Yeah I really want to upgrade the size of my tires. Too bad I missed you selling those creepies. I have been hitting up Pirate everyday looking for some used ones. I really like the way the treps look and I figure for my 3 mile commute to work I could live with something that aggressive.

I wish the junkyards had spare 6bt's by me.

I measured off where my notches would be then cut the outside edges with a bandsaw. Next I just used a chopsaw to grind out the middle of the notch to the same depth as the factory notch.

Tonight I was able to get some time in on the cruiser. I replaced all the fluids. It is full of oil, and I just need to get some distilled water to top off the radiator.

I also have been thinking about the tach situation, and I really would like to know what RPM the motor is turning so I called a buddy to see if he still had the ABS sensors from the FZJ80 axle I swapped into my truck.

He fortunately did, and with some time and scrap metal I came up with this.

Hopefully It will work.

Looks good. that's about what I started with for my abs mount then I just ended up using the original crank sensor mount and drillilling, tapping a mounting hole in the center of it. Can't wait to see it work. You know we are going to have to post a youtube of them rollin coal!

I can't wait for that. Hopefully I will be able to get some footage of the engine firing up this friday. Here is my tach setup from a different angle.

I also found the old wires that went to the coil so hopefully there should be no issues with getting that all hooked up and together.

IN terms of progress I discovered that my radiator had some pinhole leaks so I dropped it off at a local place to get tested and repaired.

My intercooler came in and fits nice right over the opening for the radiator. I figure the best way to attack the piping is to make a run to lowes and grab some pvc to mock up.

I also finished up the plumbing on my power steering and hydroboost setup. The cooler will be reinstalled once the radiator gets back.

Making up the lines was a breeze. Much less trouble than I figured it would be.

Also a plug for my tires I am trying to sell.

They were great tires, but I need them to go before I can justify buying new ones.

You might want to look at the gap setting on your abs sensor. I am thinking that you might need to be as close as the old cigarette celophane trick to get it to pick up the gaps correctly. Probably something you have to play with 'cause i thought I could see various washers you used for spacers.

I also forgot. Thinking about your intercooler mount, You are not putting you a/c back on for now right?
