I have been working remotely... and our workload has increased due to this pandemic. My work days are are starting to blend into family life and the other day I went for a drive to nowhere just to get out of the house for a bit. The good news is we are getting back into board games and backyard s'mores. My exercise has dropped to zero... is there a less than zero?... I could use an organized ride one of these days to get out of here.

My new normal sucks.

Forgot—also replaced a cracked glass headlight lens with a lens from a used headlight that had broken tabs. That job totally sucked—waaay stronger adhesive from the factory than on other assemblies I’ve done this job on....
And painted my bumpers black and side trim white (same color as body). Although maybe that was before the pandemic changed life—it’s all kind of a blur at this point what with working from home and having three kids under 8 in the house all day every day....

I got laid off so spending tons of time at home with the fam. My wife had to close up her yoga studio so she’s trying to keep it alive online while I hang out with our son.
In a way I’m kind of enjoying it!

Started detailing the Subaru today, the FJ60 is next in line plus I’m going to order some plugs and wires and a fuel filter for it. Maserati is up on jack stands waiting for me to stop procrastinating on some fluid changes, an air filter (it looks really old), belt change and some de-cat pipes!

Basement is almost organized and the pile of stuff I need to eBay is getting big!
Oh yeah... and not a great time to look for a job!

Raked all the leaves that I should’ve raked before winter. Teleworking way more, and I’m much more productive than going into the office, my whole team is. I’ve been hitting the kettle bells hard to try and stay active.

ive ordered all the supplies to build a fire pit in the back yard from Lowe’s, paid the extra fee to have it delivered to my driveway. It will be a simple stone paver circle pit.

An oil change for the X5 and then all fluids for the LX should be done during this isolation.

rescued my buddies jet ski that had been sitting in the woods since 2014. 2 stroke gp1300r should be a blast out on the water. I’ve cleaned the gunk off it and removed the numerous mouse nests. It started right up. New plugs, battery, and trim cable (rust) to be swapped out soon. I’ll probably repack the trailer bearings and it’ll be ready for some social distancing.

News channel is on from the minute my dad wakes up til he goes to sleep.... It's making my life rough at home. Mom was already crazy about this, and freaking out saying I basically need to wear a hazmat suit anywhere I go. Now my dad is feeding into it as well. They freak out over simple things like going outside for a jog or mowing the lawn.

I kind of get the concern. My logic is we aren't in a city center, I'm not going out willy nilly to wherever I want. I go to the office and bar on the weekend. See the same small group of people that are smart enough to not be going around interacting with everyone for giggles.

Today is my first day on furlough until further notice, so all my time is dedicated to the 40 right now. Today was knuckle parts cleaning day so spent my day over a parts washer and chasing threads. My new axle housing arrives on Tuesday to replace my bent one. Going to assemble my new media blasting cabinet and blast, prime, and paint all my front axle parts before reassembly. New suspension going in with the new front axle.

Might go for a hike tomorrow but I hear there are plenty of rattlers out now here in NM.

The wife and I are both able to work from home and jobs are unaffected (for now at least). Thankfully the worst we have to deal with right now is a bit of cabin fever and all the days starting to run together. I think I was close to getting a new job offer (fingers still crossed) but hiring has been paused understandably— probably a good thing all around anyway. I wouldn’t want to be the new guy right now.

Wrapped up the timing cover seals, water pump and cooling system refresh as you guys all know. Time to enjoy the truck for a bit and put some miles on the 🚲.

I’ve got a few other projects lined up.

For the 62, I have a relatively low mile second hand 80 series steering box to put on.

For the 100, I picked up some Firestone coil rite helper air bags and I need to trouble shoot a P0446 evap system code I keep getting at about 1/2 a tank. I replaced the gas cap but it came back. I just replaced a cracked line on the charcoal canister—hopefully that does it. Then on to testing the vsv and pressure sensor.

I’m overhauling a mower I picked up last month. More was wrong with it than I expected. Hope to have it up and running next week.
