Hey ya'll! I'm late to the party and planning has never been my strong suit. 😣 Was there a second group camp spot for those of us who missed the KOA boat? I know someone mentioned the Ouray Inn, but doesn't look like Guinness is welcome there.... Otherwise, just gonna roll in Sunday night and wing it, which is fine too. Drives the Husband crazy though.... View attachment 3377301
Umm I’d like to see the rest of that interior! I like the stripes pretty cool looking

Anyone have anything to say about any of the GPS map apps? Gaia, onX or? Thinking about subscribing to one but hoping I could get some feedback from the group. I already have the Colorado trail guide which is pretty solid. Looking forward to seeing everyone in a week and a half!

So you are saying no AC is gonna suck this year 😂.
It’ll be fine once you get there!!

Ben, it was referenced awhile back in the thread. I’ve used AllTrails before and it’s pretty good. But the Colorado locals suggested COTREX, which I downloaded…

How is cell coverage at the KOA? I have Verizon. Chris has AT&T I believe.

I'm still pending work schedule......so hopefully I'll see some of you folks, if I do.....I'll pop in towards the end of the week for a couple days.

Exactly. Fun fact, High Altitude Compensation would add 6 degrees starting at 4k ft. So bare minimum mark your line for 13* since you will be at 8k ft at the KOA and if you go up Imogene (which you definitely should/will), you'll peak at 13k ft. Your 3F likely has leaner jets at this moment (something like a 136/138 primary and 200/220 secondary) so once you bump your timing, feel free to use your choke to adjust.

Furthermore, since it's a 3F and likely a rest of world (ROW) truck, you should have a hand throttle. Using a mixture of choke and hand throttle will compensate for your needs (which is very dependent on engine vacuum). The closer to 22inHg at idle, at sea level, the better or off you are at high altitudes.

Last but not least....it's fun to bring a vac gauge, you can do some quick adjustments, otherwise a quick spin on the idle screw will be enough to bring idle speed up.
Whatever!!! :). You better make it to Ouray Nate!!!

Not sure I’m in anymore either. Looking like I have to tap out. :( Too many things just came up.
Ben, me and the boys were really looking forward to meeting up in person! Sure yiu cant swing it?

Thanks!! She’ll be there Sunday for the perusing! The rest is pretty average. Cargo panels from Orikawa, door panels I got through Land Cruiser Restorations, drawer/platform for the sleeping. I think I have a complete 60 interior in a 62 as well… 🤔

I’m trying to see if I can swing a couple days. I was looking forward to meeting you guys and other cruiser heads. Pretty bummed but I’m trying to figure it out.

Yeah man, it’s basically your backyard! :hillbilly:
Compared to you, it is my driveway lol.

It’s 400 miles from my place to Ouray, about 6.5 hours it says…yeah right, that’s 85% interstate and I’m not running 80mph in a BJ74.

for those not following my build thread.. new motor mounts installed, engine back in, and then I had the bright idea of turboing it on top of everything else I have to do. that is pretty much done besides some welding, next up is going through the transmission. From here out it's pretty much just nuts and bolts and not much more fabrication. Should go pretty quick 🤞

Is it going on a dyno or street tuning?

Have used them both you get more with Gaia but it's harder to use and it crashes a lot. using onX now and like it much better !

I have a camping spot for 2 nights at Ampitheater that I won’t be using 7/31-8/2.
Shoot me a msg if interested.

@Broski Have made the decision to switch from Gaia to OnX also. Curious which of their packages do you suggest:

A) $35/yr for their Premium
B) $99/yr for their Elite
