Has anyone got this installed yet? Feedback? Updates? Bueller? Bueller? Anyone?

Shawn

I have it installed but I do not have it in the 40 yet.
Only problem I have had with itaas the trasfercase studs would not fit in the holes but I think that was from corotion.
Look at the last page of my build up thread for pics.

Chris

Yes, you do have to enlarge the holes just a little bit. This is in the instructions. In some cases, it will only clean up the casting lines in the transfer case.

Looks good!

Shawn

Oh those were instructions. Thaught those were packing material.
As I was was enlarging them I was thinking I wander if this was in the instructions.

Great product! The fit was spot on.

Chris

No, nothing for the 420... I have ONE left for the 465..

Shawn

Have they been working well. I see no one has really left feedback. They look super sick

Right now I am going on "no news is good news". I have heard from a few that have assembled them, but that is about all...

Shawn

I should have mine together in a few weeks. What are you all using for gaskets, buying them, form a gasket, making your own?

I'll be happy to do a write up once I have all the pieces. I'm just waiting on a t-case which I will be picking up next week.

I used gasket material and made my own.

Chris

From the tranny to the plate, you can use rtv if you like. If you use a gasket, make sure it isn't too thick, or you MIGHT need a washer to go under your transfer case input gear to keep it from bottoming out on the plate. Not a big deal, but I was not aware of this and did not supply the washer / spacer for this.

From the plate to the transfer, you can use OEM or rtv...

Come tax time i'm looking at tranny options for my SBC powered 40. After one wheeling experience with my 3 speed i'm not a huge fan of throwing the bouncy 40 over rocks.

I've got an SM465 sitting in a rusting out 78 chevy 4x4 calling to be transplanted in my 40.

However....i have a PTO winch that i did a lot of work to keep after the SBC swap.

Will your kit allow me to keep my PTO gear?

No it will not. You would need to get one from Advanced Adaptors.

Shawn

Shawn, yes flat rate is same to P.R.,which is the payment method you use?.are you going to make more?I just started a new job, unemployed for several months ,maybe in a month i can save money,
and if you still have it, we do business.

I would LOVE to make some more, but I need to have people that want them. I have to do at least 10 at a time, and it is a lot of $$ for me to sit on while they are waiting to be sold.

I actually LOST money on the first 15 I made by time I paid for the CNC programming and all the hardware. It was the hardware that killed me. The studs are not cheap.

On a side note, I have a guy that just spoke up for the last one. I checked the times on the messages, and he did PM me first. If he does not take it, I will let you know.

If I can get 10 more people that want them, I will make more. Should I start another list?

Shawn

I am now sold out. If there is enough interest, I will start another list, and get 10 more made.

Thanks!
Shawn

Would you consider making a run of these in steel? I really don't want to sandwich aluminum between and SM465 and an Orion.
