Got it

I had a note from the post office Friday the 23rd, picked it up Monday! Looks great, nice detail. I'm glad I waited for this and didn't go with a competitor, can't beat the price

Thank you Shawn!

Mine showed up tuesday, looks good. Not sure when I'll be able to work on it as I am currently helping get trees off a friends property from the tornado that hit wed nite.I'm a half mile from the tornado that went thru apison TN, and 20 miles from ringold one as well.

Wonderful product!
Well done Shawn.

Great! I think all of them have been delivered now.

I have a few more if anyone is interested in one... If I have any left, I will take them to the So Cal Swap meet on the 14th..

Thanks guys!

SM465 plate adaptor install issue

I am in the middle of my install and have an issue. I have taken and attatched pictures of the pto opening on the transfer case. (I just bought a star this morning so I am not sure how the picture thing works yet) When I install the gear that bolts to the transmission output shaft it hits the inside of the transfer case before bottoming out on the output shaft. It installs fine and everything spins freely untill
I torque down the gear then everything is frozen. Any suggestions? Should it be like this? The install instructions say that I should be able to torque it to 120 lbs just by holding the shaft in low so there should be some resistance I guess. I put some grease on the edge of the insde of the transfer case so when I installed and removed the gear I would be able to see where it was hitting on the gear. any ideas will be helpful. Thanks

If you take the transfer case off the adaptor, and put the gear on the output shaft, with the adaptor still on the tranny, what happens?

Shawn

It slides over the output shaft perfect and butts up against the transmission just right. It all goes together just like it should. Is there supposed to be a spacer or anything on the output shaft between the gear and the transmission? It seems like the plate with gaskets on both sides and sealant is just a little too thick.

Can you point me to the info about the spacer? I did not have this problem with my setup nor have I seen the thread you are referring to. If a spacer is needed in some installs, I want to be able to supply it to you / others. I will include it in the hardware kit with the plate.

What year transfer case are you using?

How thick are the gaskets you are using?

I want to make this right for you / anyone else who has this problem.

Sorry it took so long to get back, there are a few threads that talk about the spacer. Treeroot's Orion thread
is the one that has the most info in one place as it shows exactly what can happen without the spacer. I think my case is an early 1973, at least the cruiser is, and it is a 3 speed case. Poser did not have the spacer in stock so I had one made at my local machine shop. Dimentions are 1.65 on the O.D. 1.37 on the I.D. and .290 long. It is not perfect, if one off stuff from a machine shop wasn't so expensive I would have had them redo it. It will work, as it fit over the shaft and under the seal to keep me from having to split the case and tranny again. The tranny gasket is from fel pro, the transfer case gasket is OEM from orangefj45, I used sealant on both as per the instructions.
