4" skyjackers on my past 3 cruisers with bilsteins works really well highway and trail...at one point I had old man emu shocks...to stiff for me.

I also have the 4" in the rear with 2" in front w/sr

Have mine for over 23 years

They have over 200,000 miles on them ... never a broken leaf... a great ride new... and even better now lol

They are soft and have quite a bit of movement in them... being that they are lift springs they are longer this required me to run extended shackles as the leaves bottom out on the shackle hangers

I'm going to do it but was going to do 2 1/2" both front and rear. Got to do something as the front has two different springs and one is shorter causing spring shackle to point straight down. The bushings are shot and springs lost some arch. Was looking for the best deal on a kit and found some good prices on skyjackers soft spring kits.

i have the same combo as @JohnnyC since late 90's , i also use longer shackle with the 4" spring for the same reason , but for the 2.5" it's probably fine with the stock shackles .
i think its a very good product and one of the least expensive , good ride and good flex for cheap

Does the 4" lift cause body roll when cornering ? The reason to lift was to get bfgoodrich A/T 33X10.50X15 and I thought 2 1/2" was good from what I'm reading.

I've swapped inferior lift springs for softride. They handle the same - after all, it takes the same spring rate to keep the vehicle 4" further off the ground then stock. Softride works because it uses more, thinner springs and teflon pads between the springs. Stock springs allow more wallow in the curves then any lift spring - the good news/bad news is that even with the more compliant spring you will roll it before you wallow.

With that said, keep in mind that all lift springs use poly as their stock material - so if you buy the softride and put rubber bushings in place (it is an option with them), the suspension will be more compliant.... but in my experience, if you can 'handle' stock (heh, pun) then any lift will handle better because of the higher spring rate

So Softrides are okay? I thought the only positive recs left for 2.5" lifts were OME and Alcans since 4PlusProducts (@lcwizard) isn't making his anymore. I'll be in the market soon. Just need something decent, not planning on any great adventures.

I've read that as well. But I've also read they remain the go to spring.

my opinion is they are a good option and I've had good experience with them. YMMV

i would like to know where this "good deal" is @Greasyfingers . im also hopefully installing a proper lift this spring (not intended i swear). i cant seem to find the springs for better than 151 per spring. which is only 6 bucks cheaper than kurts OME's

'twas admirable, though. softride springs are usually more expensive because there are literally more springs - I have found autoplicity and their ilk tend to have pretty decent sales that include superlift (the makers of softride). One thing to pay attention to, though, is if you buy single springs they do not come with the bushings....

Auto anything kit # l24KS-B/ 2 1/2"
Just got off phone and skyjacker soft ride ,bushings , 4shocks , 2 1/2" front 4" rear is ----drum roll ------- $886.00
Check them out , got all info from skyjacker corp. web sight before calling auto anything. Kit good for 1976 to Jan 1980 . Good luck

I've been doing the research too and am very interested in the 2.5 front and back with the hydro shocks, as in reality I don't go banging at high speeds down rocky roads so the hydros should be sufficient. 4wd parts online may be best deal if they have no shops/warehouses in your state (sales tax) at $797.30 with the hydro shocks. but since here in FL I gotta pay tax so it's the exact same as Morris 4wd at $847.09 currently (free shipping) and then there is a $35 rebate on the shocks. until the end of May. Seems like the deal to me.
