Really amazing fabrication build Skip !! :wrench::clap:

My friend brought over he’s plasma cutter as i was starting the rear sliders and needed som custom sized pieces, a bunch faster than using my cut off system. Next wednesday I will be back on them and have some fab pics.

That is what I like to call a narcotics pusher.... one try of that goodness and you are hooked!

I am on my third plasma cutter now... I kept going larger to cut bigger stuff. Hypertherm has been amazing to create anything...

Wait til you use a cnc table with the plasma. I rarely freehand it anymore.

well here ever have some pics of the rear sliders mostly put together but not finished today . Made a few minor adjustments but they cam out pretty nice and be very functional, final grinding and install still needed. final fender fitting still needed for the reviel for distance.

I started with the extensive prep of the back plating of the back bumper when ch was the pre lim of the rear bumper. way overkill for strength bet i won’t have to worry about it supporting the needs of the truck in the towing department or other needs. next pics will show the excessive welding on the bumpers and the plating to make it strong.

Here are the pics of the rear bumper to show the mating up to the frame that supported the frame construction and the overall completion of the desire rear bumper. Yes it is a over call of engaging but there is no question that it will fail when needed. I had a helper on the welding who is a fabricator I do like his fab work and stitch work, it makes me real happy, I think y

Nice work!
Interesting design.
Looks like weight is not a Issue for you.

I have some pics of some work that i have completed. Most of the fabrication has been completed and it is time to tear down and go over the pieces to make sure that all the sanding and grinding is done. Go over the rough body work to make sure all of my responsibility is completed. so I removed the bed and body as well as the axels to inspect the welds. The rears will go in for the for powder coat and then assembly, finish body fabrication much easier when i have it off the frame. When reassembled with all the body parts it will go up to my friend in Idaho for install of the mercedes 606 and and do the final body and paint. I has been a long winded project and I am starting to see the light atgg vs the end of the tunnel.

Congrats! What a big step forward!

A little update on one of the completed things. I decided to put a reinforcement on the lower cab, rocker for good looks and a bit stronger, and it turned out well and made me feel good. As usual it took longer to complete as usual I still have some final grinding to complete. Have other postings to add of other work that have been completed. Also a new shop dog in the making 11 weeks 14 #will end up 35-40# Maggie-mae is her name, she is an Aussie Doodle.

What is your trick to such perfect welds!? Do you have really steady hands? Are you setting up laser lines to follow? Just phenomenal work!
A clean face shield window and the right shade setting
