I just did a fj60 power steering swap on my fj40, I would like to see what other people used for their steering stabilizer

If you set your steering/axle geometry up properly and everything in your suspension/steering linkage is tight, you shouldn't need one.

I agree with Cam. It can sit right behind the tie rod.
Ram rt turn sm.webp

Mine will be driven to the trails on the road so ram assist is out, I'm getting wicked "death wobble" over 25 mph.

Humm, I thought it was illegal to run ram assist on the road?

Nice rig by the way.

I was pretty sure you aren't suppose to run full hydro on the road, if you lose hydraulics it could be difficult to steer. With the hydro assist you still have the mechanical connection so you can steer even if you lose all the fluid.

Hopefully somone in the know will chime in. I have no trouble with mine on the road, steers faster than my Dodge does anyhow.

I used a 60 series steering damper, I cut the original damper mount off and mounted a 60 series damper mount, works well.

Then something is either worn (like the trunion bearings or spring bushings) or something is loose (shackles or TREs). If everything is new, tight and alingned you should not have death wobble. A steering stabilizer is just a band-aid to mask the underlying problem.

FJ60 box with FJ60 arm. It is in the long term to replace with a flatter one, just haven't done it yet. Hasn't caused any problems yet though.

I haven't had one on my truck since the mounting bracket on the tie rod side broke on Metalmasher three years ago
