Here’s to hoping life doesn’t get in the way. 40 is ready to roll. See yall in August.

All these pictures of 40s make me want to get my 40 ready by August … but time and money are gonna preclude that I think. It still sits in the garage, not having run in 10? 20? years. Needs: wiring harness full rebuild, radiator tested and cooling system put together, carb cleaned and rebuilt, manifold gasket job, exhaust booger welding, seats fixed up with new foam and maybe a blanket on top, fuel system cleaned, fuel pump rebuilt, brakes at all four corners redone, new dual circuit brake MC installed, 1000 broken bolts & rivets on the top and rain gutter drilled out and redone so the top can fit, a full baseline with engine tune up and fluid changes, and more. That’s in addition to the ongoing 2F rebuild and other several other projects for my 60. And work, and side job, and kids, and the rest…

So maybe SAS10? Can I drive an original 69 F motor pushing bias ply tires up and over the Rockies from Denver to Ouray?

255/85r16 or there abouts…

What are your thoughts on the Faulken Wild peak AT4w?
Did that size for sas#7. It’s popular 👍 Without getting too deep into a tire discussion, the biggest consumer complaint I hear is snow/wet traction.

Is triple peak rating BS? I’ve loved those tires (Falken WP AT4) but little experience with them in the snow. Testing some on a GX for their first winter in Utah now. It’s been pretty mild. So far so good.

Problem is that most consumers are people…

Just trying to land on a tire for my LC’s and roll with it 😉. Been rocking BFG KO2 for a couple hundred thousand miles on my Tundra and have been very pleased with them. Have them on my LC’s now but where the size variation makes a difference I’ve broadened my range.

3pms is not BS. A ton of engineering and money goes into achieving mfg designation. If you’re in the mountains a bunch, no chains required with 3pms…as far as the Falken, mfg’d by SRI (Sumitomo Rubber-who also just acquired Dunlop brand for $700mm last week) are very popular and we sell a ton. The AT4 is relatively new and not a ton of feedback from consumers with 25k mi+.

Size matters 🤷‍♂️
