A little bit of starter fluid can help get it going; it needs to get a bit of heat to get going. Barring that if you have a jumper pack or a robust battery, cranking it long enough will eventually get it warm enough. Waiting until its warmer out will also help if possible.Anyone know any tricks for starting diesels at high altitude? Stuck at around 9000 feet with iffy glow plug wiring View attachment 3073069

My kind of people!Look at those hillbillies!
That boost connection had been good for 1,000 miles and popped just in time for a fellow SaSer to pull up! Was so cool to meet ya’ll. See ya in Ouray! We found @epaul on the side of I70 after he passed us (yeah, 4.88's and an unbalanced driveahaft have us in the slow lane). He was just putting a charge hose back on. Glad I stopped not only to say hi but I found I had thrown a rock onto the front glass of my trailers camper shell and spidered it. It was still together so it got some gorilla tape reinforcement before it fell out entirely. View attachment 3073581

We are in Joseph, UtahWe left early Friday morning from the central west Cost for a long day across the Mojave desert.
Made to Hurricane Utah for the nite, then up to cedar city to stretch our legs a bit, they have some really nice walking trails.
Then a easy drive up to Green River state park

@DangerNoodle looks like you are stuck on Hwy 50 westbound at the road construction near Curecanti NRA. I was there last week and sat in one spot for an hour! Definitely something everyone will want to plan around if you are traveling between Montrose and Gunnison during the week.
