About to start a “build” on my 69 fj40. My dad bought this for me a year ago today and I got it running, driving, and mostly stopping. (Needs front axle overhaul). At this point I would like to tear it down, fix a big leak from my overdrive unit, paint the frame, and install a lift kit. The goal here isn’t to make a perfect show car. The goal is to make it mechanically sound but still have some rust and dents so when we do stupid stuff in it off road we don’t have to worry about it. If yall would like to follow along I will be starting a YouTube channel to follow the work I’m doing as well as posting on this thread! @andrewbridges1785 is the YouTube channel. Me and my dad are still going to be enjoying the last couple warm Georgia days before I get started so it’s going to be a few weeks before any progress is made! I’m sure yall will be hearing a lot from me with questions! Thanks!

A very nice rig. I have a 1969 as well. Would you share frame number. ? Always looking a consecutive build from Japan.

Here is the first part!! Just going over the cruiser for my own sake to just have a starting point to look back on! Going to enjoy it until the tank is empty then start the tear down!

Looks like you have a nice starting point for your project. Looking forward to watching your progress.

Pulled the first fender. Tomorrow is a rainy Sunday so nothing better to do than to pull everything off this fender and get it looking as nice as possible. Started with the paint but will continue it tomorrow!
