Need to pull the hard top and go over all that needs to be done for that so naturally that led to a door hunt to make half doors out of. Fortunately through mud and the local community I’ve hooked up with, I picked up a set of older doors to have on while the top is off. Thanks to @davegonz for the deal. It’ll be a few weeks before I can get to these but it’ll happen sooner or later…

Also, ditched the deer slayer cop bumper for an OEM I got through a local Toyota dealership.

Sexy.

I’ll be posting the deer slayer for sale if anyone is interested.

Welded on tow bar tabs and a receiver, tow bar comes with.

That’s pretty cool!
I can cut them in white as well at any size within reason. would look good on your red? could do the reverse too. let me know the size/color and I'll ship you a few.

Hello,

does anyone know if the door strikers from earlier model doors have the same bolt pattern as the newer ones?
I don’t want to make any permanent alterations just have to half doors on for some of the time…

thanks,
Ian

Believe the top and bottom catches for ambulance doors work when using earlier doors on a 1/75+ tub.

Thank you. I am on the road and will check when I return.

Appreciate the response.

Yep, bolt patterns are the same between the two strikers.

Think I finally flushed and filled my coolant for awhile. Used a product called ThermoCure to get the never ending rust out and it really seemed to work. First flush was black as tar and it cleared up really quickly after. Was able to get almost 4 gallons of red stuff in there while before it was closer to 2.5 gallons.

My oil cooler pipe was toast so I bypassed that with a rubber line for now…

Onto a Saginaw box rebuild and a knuckle job… can’t wait🤨

Well, I began my Saginaw PS box rebuild and everything was going swimmingly. Parts were coming apart easy enough and everything was looking good as far as the internals. Then I hit a snag. While trying to get the bearing assembly out of the pitman arm holder/port/dealybob I discovered that there was some previous damage that was preventing me from getting the assembly out… grrrr. See third pic.

I’ll give a call to West Texas Off Road tomorrow (whom I should’ve just sent this to in the first place) and see what they think.

So instead, I fixed my wife’s wind chimes… I needed a win.

The BS (PS) overhaul is complete.
Found the reman Saginaw box at Napa, only two trips to get one that wasn’t F’ed.

When I first got this 40 I erroneously welded on the cast plate that came with the truck, It was C-clamped on so even that was an improvement.

However, I didn’t patch the gaping maw in the crossmember that the PO had cut into it. This time I did. Took way longer to do this than I thought but I’m glad it’s done. Took her for a spin and she feels good. Now it’s time for a B double E double R U N.
