thats Mark not Georg unless you are reffering to a communication not in this thread.
Doh!

Fixed. Thanks. I wasn’t paying the most attention to whom said what. Please pardon my error.

On that note: hey Mark @65swb45, I called the other day trying to locate a bell housing cover for my April of ‘80 girl here. Could you please keep an eye out for one for me please?

I have this one up for grabs if anyone needs it.

All my remaining inventory available for sale is 81 and newer. That’s why I didn’t call you back.

Thanks for the reply Mark. I get why you don’t call back, but if you should happen across one, please keep me in mind. Also, I have a credit with you and I’m working on an ‘88 62. I’ll call you tomorrow and hopefully we can figure something out.

Thanks again,
Ian

Playing around with this getup for a family style bikini while the top is off for some metal love.

Mocked up a family sized bikini top. Wife sewed, I welded. WIP… literally held on with two nylocks and two c-clamps. Mostly scrounged materials.

Got some JEGS 3-point seatbelts and will revisit the rear seat topic after some work on the 62.

Came up with these little doodads to hold down the middle of the front of my homemade family top. Made from EMT and a now broken vise.

Uses the capture nut holes for the hardtop. Trying to fill holes not create more here.

I will have to drill a few hole for the footman loops but those can be easily filled later.

On a different note: does anyone have some magic sauce to refresh roll bar pads? Mine are complete but a few spots are a wee sunbaked.

Just curious if anyone has had success adding life back to these.

Thanks,
Ian

Mark @65swb45 nailed the bushings call, naturally.
Only got the front most shackles (curtesy of @cruiseroutfit) and recommended spring eye bushings installed and the immediate difference is is amazing. Can’t wait to get the rest installed.

Of course all my bushings are trashed so even after TRE’s and new shocks all around, just this small upgrade is huge.

It’s late, pictures tomorrow.

Continuing with my spastic thread… when I took my top off and apart and discovered some good ol’ hidden rust. Played with fixing up the ambulance door header as it was the most trashed.

Nice and cold here, good welding weather.

That turned out really good. Better than mine. Luckily no one can see it.
Thanks E.
I started with the “easy” side. The last picture shows the side I have yet to do. I’ll need to bend up that section as whole as possible as there are too many inside corners that are too hard to grind back.

In other news, I also replaced all of my lower to water pump hoses including the metal T junction with OEM hoses. There is a York compressor installed for the AC that made that job extra fun.

Started her and let her idle for a bit and the temperature spiked almost to H. Let her boil off a bit, burped the lines while nose up on an incline and was able to add almost another gallon of red.
Runs at the right temperature now.
Also replaced the T-stat and lower housing with an older two hole housing that still had the port for the oil cooler. Swapped out all the worm drive hose clamps with the cityracer OEM style stainless hose clamps as well.

Good way to spend Sunday and still watched Beetlejuice with the family.

Scoobied over to TASCO finally with the fuel door for a paint match. He scanned the inside and said it was an “18”. Good matches are between 2 and 10. I told him to turn the door over and said, “that’s about the best part on my truck, give me 4 rattle cans”…

It is a hair more blue, but I’m not at full restoration phase anytime soon. Just wasn’t loving the various primer hits.

I used to frequent the TASCO on S. Congress. Man, I miss having that place so convenient.

That’s actually a pretty decent match at least from where I am sitting! Nice
It looks pretty good in person.
I feathered it in so to not disturb the patina too much.

Since I’m doing a bunch of repairs on sections, I figured it would be better to throw some legitimate paint on.
