Reproduction OEM soft top bows? (1 Viewer)

hey those are in my basement!

as far as the tub modifications go.. I have to replace my rear sill anyways and I need to do some rear quarter work as well. I would have had to drill holes anyways :/ it should work out though

You can see where the newer bow is bent so that the top is slightly angled inwards in this picture of a repro bow made from a later hard top. This will match the later hard doors, but will leave a little gap at the top with the early soft or hard doors.

Learn something new all the time. I happen to have a 73 hard top with 79 haard doors. Door seem to fit fine but I guess they must be tighter than should be at top. Also have a 77 hard top that has 72 door and they are loose at the back top.

I removed my wrong information earlier in the tread.

Did Toyota make soft doors for the front in the post 74 years or were they all hard doors?

X2!, I just had some tubing bent to replicate an early style bow system, only problem is I could not find anyone with a 2" on center radius bender. but it only cost $80 bucks. you mean to tell me that there is justification in another say $500 in the additional hardware? I'm having a hard time seeing that. I guess it's the typical supply and demand

But what about the door jambs etc...?

The stamped pieces must have required an enormous cost to have the dies made... If they could sell 10,000 of these the cost would be MUCH lower I'm sure.

from the looks of those pieces I would not guess that the dies are designed for "stamping", rather a "rolled" process.

and I'm sorry but I do not agree with you that the cost of these dies would mandate 10,000 sales to be cheaper

Just pulled a number outta the air.... what I'm sayin' is that volume = lower prices.

stamped, rolled, whatever... the set-up and/or labor is there. $850's worth? I dunno.

I'm just confirming the price on these bows. They will be available in group orders of a minimum of 10 sets FOB San Jose, Costa Rica. I should have the price confirmed in a day or two.

John, I could bring you a set up when I pass through San Salvador later this fall.

These will be bows only at this time. We might be able to offer tops later on.
