By the way like @Augustiron i watch a wide variety of BAT auctions in some cases as a barometer for what is coming and where it was. My gut says, I am not getting what I paid for 3-4 yrs ago

Hardest part for you is setting a proper reserve.
High enough that you don't give it away for all the work put in, but also attainable for where the market is at.... which is the hard part to figure right now.
No shame if you set it too high and the market can't get there.

I watch a lot of auctions on BAT for other vehicles.
Having a thick skin and not taking the peanut gallery comments personally, being very responsive with information and peanut gallery questions, and just being a VERY patient, pleasant and present seller go a long way to bringing out the best bidders.

The good news is you know this vehicle inside out, every nut and bolt.
Many auctions are run by brokers who don't know the car and can't really market it and answer all the questions.

All great advice- Photog took over 400 pics today, a handful of videos and I’m prepared to monitor the auction closely to field any questions/concerns. The market(hobby/collector car market)is a little weird, I saw one a few months back that shows that there are buyers out there. We’ll find out in a few weeks.

I honestly don't think this one fits in with the general market 40's that most of us look for, @Jdc1 and the crew have built a diamond. I set the bar low enough to stub a toe on with mine, this one has set the bar sky high. I've been impatiently waiting to see the listing.

I see this in that same light… if you want to appreciate the stock beauty and fine details in a build, then this is the greatest way to go…

Next step is BAT writes the listing, @dlzadl and I will make any necessary changes and then when that’s set, the auction will go live. Photos should be done tomorrow or Tuesday.

This is a 6 figure 40 in my opinion. I doubt bring a trailer bidders will understand the difference between a 20 footer SA painted 40 and yours. I don't have an explanation for saying that other than its just a gut feeling. I hope you get what its worth. Its nicer than a fjco 40.

Thanks, I appreciate the compliments. There are over 500 pics in the gallery right now as well as an 80mph pull down the hwy. Not sure if they’ll keep all of them or not for the final listing. I’ll link my pics from last fall, the build album and thread on Mud in the comments as well.

After building this- I understand completely why some of the builders lean towards restomod using as many new components as possible, and stick to the same basic vehicle.

I can’t disagree with you @White Stripe. There are a few well versed buyers out there and these folks are trolling the shallow and deep waters. This 40 is for a serious discriminating buyer/collector. A museum piece….

My experience has been…once the auction starts, post any left out or last minute ideas and thoughts as the seller making comments, list any photos as “added by seller”

That will help get your thoughts across to viewers.
