Ive seen the distributor with the knob but never a carb.

It’s a pretty obscure piece of trivia, but there was a knob on the idle mixture screw around the 1970 timeframe. I posted a picture of an NOS one once. I’m not even sure where it is at this point, but I’m sure I still have it…somewhere (just like @ToyotaMatt decals)
But that wouldn’t have applied to the vehicle year he mentioned to you, so it’s more likely that he was referring to the octane selector.

After I put @Mace old Flowmaster exhaust on Ruftoys, I had some serious floorboard heat issues. As in turning a plastic box of solderless lerminals stored under the seat into a Rubik’s cube!

Putting the Orion forced me to move away from the factory skidplate. THAT cured my floorboard issues as well.

Taking a que from master fabricator @fc187 I commissioned a small hoop that would cover the vitals and just made spreaders to mount it to the frame.

FC is a master. Love seeing his work. We will be adding some custom mats as well but worried about the paint and undercoating. There’s a significant difference using this shield.

Yep water and probably air flow. I can cut the clearances on my wood stove almost in half with a similar shield.
