Those crazy Australians get all the cool stuff. Going through the EPC today and see this. Goes where our regular rear reflectors go.

Dunno

Part # 81560-60100 & 81550-60170

Where is MOT when you need him?

Marshal, in the 55s tailight bucket " prior to 78" there is a hole where the socket would go for that small bulb.

I could have had that number run when I was at the dealer today. I gave them a list of probably 50 part numbers for the FJ45LV to see what's available (I'm expecting that most of it will come back "Discontinued" but it's worth a try). Here in Guatemala it doesn't matter to them if it's Guatemalan orginally or not like it does stateside. I wonder what they think when a gringo like me comes in with a list of part numbers.

If you wanted to mount those on a U.S. '55 you'd need to cut out the reflector area as the body is solid behind the reflector on U.S. models.

Alright, since you have your big fancy EPC thing, riddle me this: my mid - '74 Pig (VIN: FJ55-41xxx) has a light at the end of the turn signal stalk. Is that factory?

pics? would love to see it. My guess is that its a compatible turn signal switch from another model. seen quite a few very similar turn signal switches from early toyota cars that only differed in the stalk design...

Marshall, might also be worth the shot in the dark to see if the Aussie spec quarter panels were still available, since they would be different for the rear reflector light.

Euro early BMW's had similar small lights in the front and rear blinkers/taillights that turned on when the fog lights were on, with headlights off IIRC.

Thats funny, I have 1 of those: Bought some stuff from a guy in Australia a couple of years ago and the guy said he had a rear reflector for $5.00 AU. I thought it would be good to have a spare so I had him throw it in. I got the package and said "what?". So, it sits in a box.

EPC is at work. Will look it up Monday. That would be really cool though. And would love to see pics.

And thank you Marshall  and the Cruiser Gods...had I not procrastinated and gone to get the pics I would not have found my 40 tire rack hinges that I put somewhere "safe" 4 fricken months ago while waiting for brass bushings. :whoops:

Is the base plastic?

Yep, plastic. Guessing the body would have an open cavity where our reflectors are and so, the outer lip of the housing and the lens would be all that was outside the body. When I looked at the picture of the guys rig it was dead on on the back and you could not make out relief or lack of chrome ring...kind of a bad shot frm a dist..
