@KingAir Driver Reached out about doing some test a few weeks ago and now I have definitive proof that these work. They need one small dimensional tweak and then I'll redo the molds and bang some out.

I also dropped buy a couple of the build threads going on over here in the pig pen ... y'all are gonna make me buy another truck. A 55 is already #1 on my wife's list.

We're ready to go and the gears are live on my little web shop: 55 Series Rear Window Gear - https://cruisertrashparts.com/products/55-series-rear-window-gear

I've gotten good feedback so far and these should be pretty strong little gears. Color may vary, I'm going to try different batches with some different pigments ... get it? Pigments???

Note that for some applications you may need a small washer (M12?) as a shim. One person installed the gear and it was the proper dimension. Another person installed it and there was about 1mm of space, though it still functioned fine. If you have that little bit of space on the shaft after installing the gear, just use a little washer. Diameter and gear teeth are both good, it's just the height of the gear on the shaft.

As a reminder these are a special formulation of heat-cured urethane, with the formulation designed to have increased strength in small cross sectional areas versus regular urethane. In other words, more strength towards the tips of the gears. I'm sure they can still break like the old plastic gears, so if your gear puts in a long service life and finally fails, buy a new one. If something happens prematurely, get in touch with me directly.
