I have one of those steering wheels in pretty good condition. I may be talked into parting with it.

My ‘69 steering wheel was in pretty bad shape but I tore the whole thing apart including the column then cleaned it up. The steering wheel itself was now shiny but still pitted/cracked. I handed it over to the paint/body guy and he made it look pretty good.

I saw a video where someone used jb weld to fill in all the cracks and sanded it down and gave a new job. It looked really good and seamed like an easy weekend project.

That’s what I was going to use. It mixes and sets up gray. Guess the steering wheel has to be painted either way? Kinda skeptical about that.
Yes the steering wheel would be painted as final step.

I’m guessing that yours is painted? How well has the paint held up? What kind of paint did you use?
Yes line was painted. The steering wheel still looks great after almost 3 years now. I will ask my paint/body guy what he used.

He used the Eastwood steering wheel repair kit for my 1969 pig.

hate the fake patina
I can deal with the fake patina but not liking the choice of wheels/rims. If not original then I like something that looks more period correct.

So I don’t own a pig, so maybe I’m way off. Are the door gaps right on that thing? I was looking at the pics on the work computer and they appeared huge.
